crops were affected by cold

PORK: Supplies are'increasing
and prices may weaken.
BEEF: With supplies lower
and demand stronger, prices are
expected to remain firm.
- EGGS: Prices for Grade A
Large eggs are expected to
advance. Smalls and Mediums
will be in plentiful supply.
POULTRY MEAT.: Chickens
will be in adequate supply at
steady prices, possibly advancing
for heavy roasters. Turkey prices
are expected to be steady.
APPLES: Earlier varieties in
good supply at moderate
seasonal prices. •
PEACHES: Ontario crop arid
prices, will be about the same as
last year. Prices will be strong in
B.C. as no commercial crop was
harvested- in the province.
GRAPES: A large Ontario
crop with declining prices. Ver'-
' small British:Columbia crop and
strong. prices.
PEARS: Excellent supplies 'at
lower prices than last year.

tissues tourists booklet
The Ontario Department of
Mines, in co-operation with .the
mining industry, has• produced
an up -dated edition of a booklet
deigned for tourists planning a
visit to the mining areas of, the
province.
The 24 -page, pocket -sized
booklet lists about 50 mining
operations that are prepared to
accept visitors, with information
as ,to the particular facilities
offered by each.
Mines Minister Allan F.
Lawrence,. in. announcing the
release of the publication said,
"It is ,our hope that visitors to
these mines. will come away with
a new and realistic idea of what
the mining industry is all about.
We want to demonstrate to them
that mining. is a modern and
dynamic industry, one of the
principal . sources of Canada's
well-being.", ,
' The booklet, "Ontario Minr-
' flours" is available without
charge through the 'Department
of Mines publications office in
.Toronto.

coaches
clinic
Mike Vrooman of Goderich
was among the 106 coaches
attending , the Royal Canadian
Legion's 8th National Track and
Field Clinic at Guelph recently.
The 11 day clinic was directed.
by 'Geoffrey Dyson and had an
instructional 'staff drawn from
four countries. Gabor Simonyi,
former Ilungarian National
Coach was among them.
'Phis year's clinic .brings the
total number of coaches trained
in the Legion's national program
to over 1,400. .
Mr. Vroo.man is director of
physical education for Goderich
public schools.
