She returned home Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Jardine. Cheryl Jardine remained on Sunday in Exeter and on her return home will be accompanied by her cousin, Susan Crawford, who vuill•--visit-.for_~ few. _ days_ at_.the.-., Jardine home. Cliff Jardine• is a patient in Goderich Hospital following surgery this past Thursday. He will be offwork at the Sifto Salt Mine for at leastthree weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Young and Sharon visited with Mrs. Celia Moore at Huronview on Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. George Errington, Bill and Betty, and Archie Aitchinson spent Sunday with Mr.. and Mrs. Robert Morgan (Donna Aitchinson) in Kerwood. In the past two weeks, Dwayne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Rivett, and Steve, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Park, have received badly gashed foreheads and both required ~stitches at Goderich Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lawlor and Jim of Auburn called one evening last week with Mr. and Mis. Bill Park and family. Mrs. Mary Terry and 'grandson, Ian Terry, of 4Summerset, England, and Miss Dianne Mason and Murray Webster of Toronto visited recently with Mr. and Mrs. J. C. (Bus) Anderson and family. Mrs. Fran Huber returned home on Wednesday from Port Arthur where- she and her family had resided. Mr. Huber and daughter Loree had returned earlier after completieM of his job. Mrs. Huber had remained top write an exam at the hospital there. Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Pentland and Lori visited in East Lansing, Michigan, over the weekend. On Saturday they attended the wedding of their nephew, Robert •Pentland. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Chisholm and four children recently travelled by train to Nova Scotia, crossing" the Bay of Fundy on the Princess Acadia and visited with Mrs. Chisholm's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ritcey, of Middleton, N.S., in the Annappolis Valley, returning August 20. Mrs. R. (Ethel) McDonald is visiting, with her sister;^ Mrs. Lila Ritchie, in Lucknow. Miss Pat Eedy, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irvine Eedy, wilt commence her training as a "hospital aid on September 15 at the Mid Western Regional Children's Centre at Palmerston. When Pat ends the two-year course, she will become a Registered Nursing Assistant. Sowerby of Goderich Township, spent Thursday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Sowerby, Scarborough, Miss Ethel Brown of Brantford and Mrs. W. G. Hunter of Zion were guests of Mr. and.. Mrs. Cecil Blake on Saturday. °Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Cuthill visited with Mr. and Mrs. Art Elliott last week. Miss Clara Sproul of Goderich and Mrs. Winnie Wedcombe of Windsor visited with Mr. and Mrs. Art Elliott recently. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Thomas and girls spent a few days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Webster and Miss Wendy Thomas remained for a week's visit with her grandparents. , Mr. and Mrs.. Gray attended the wedding of her niece, Lorene Errington, on Saturday, August 16. Mrs. Gray is visiting with her father, Jim Little, and Linda at present. Ashfield Presbyterian Church School Picnic was held at the park at the lake, where the children• enjoyed baseball, races and lunch. WMS Mrs. Warren Wylds opened ' the WMS meeting held in the church school room with a Litany of Praise. Mrs. Grant Farrish gave the meditation and Mrs. L. Collins the offertory prayer. , Roll call was answered by 12 members with a verse on birds or 'flowers. A film on the social work of the church was shown by Mrs. A. Robb.
