YOUTH MASS DELIGHTS
ASSEMBLY
Knights of the Altar and two
• guitarists presented a refreshing
"break -away" from the slow,
traditional hymns at St. Joseph's
church here Sunday during 8:30
a.m. arid 10:30 a.m. Masses. •
"This is called a Youth Mass,
not a Folk Mass," claims Brother
Ray Hughes, C.R. from St.
Eugene's College, University of
Waterloo.
Brother Ken Kroetsch C.R.
and Brother James Link C.R.
strummed the guitars as they
blended current songs such as
'Where' Have All the Flowers
Gone" and "Another You" with
the traditional Mass celebrated
by visiting Priest Father Fabian
Ayres, C.R., assistant pastor of
St. Alaysius Church Kitchener.
A choir of about 42 Knights
of the Altar (altar'boys) from St.
Alaysius Parish, Kitchener led
the obviously ,delighted
congregation through the songs.
The boys and staff members
from the college have just
completed a week 'of holidays at
Ressurrectioonist's Camp
• Huronia.
"They loved it here and we
would all like to come back,"
claims Brother Ray Hughes who
was in charge of the week "And
we certainly appreciate the
breakfast ' the ladies have
M prepared for us today. Be sure
and mention that in the paper,"
he concluded.

Propose sizes
• Consumer and Corporate
Affairs Minister Ron' Basford
announced today the launching
Of a nation-wide program to
promote the use of the Canada
Standard Size (CSS) label oh
children's clothing: A Canada
Standard Size label on a garment
means that it is sized according
to body measurement rather
thanthe age of the child.
At a press conference where
young models demonstrated the
size difference within one age
group, Mr. Basford said: "Many
parents have complained to us
about the trouble they have
buying children's clothes which
fit properly. , Obviously all
eight -year-olds are not the same
size and the consumer should be
able to buy by measurement
rather th'an age. Today ,.we are
launching 'a , program to
encourage manufacturers to
produce children's clothes in
Canada Standard sizes, and we
are urging mothers to buy only
those items carrying the ' CSS
label."
