surely appreciate it.
To those participants; the
people who came from Pear and

paintings or crafts -- and as with
Tania - both - we want them
to know we appreciate the effort
put, forth -- and I hope they are
happy they attended.

They have been vacationing

happy to be able, now, to mix
business with pleasure:
They attend art meets in

Canada and tell me ours is one
of the finest. Now .isn't that
nice?
The two ladies from Toronto
area - Vicki with oils and lovely
velvet paintings and Tania with
paintings and her jewels y, also
enjoyed Trailer Park and said
they would certainly come
again. They too, travel to many
art exhibits in Ontario and said
our Art Mart was one of the

Toronto and Goderich, and Mrs.
Margaret, Foerster of Poole,
Ontario. These dear ladies are
doing fine work and really
enjoying it. I think they are
wonderful!
I got, a real kick out of Jack
Adams who came along with a
couple of paintings he had done
some time ago. - "Just want to
show them" he said, but right
away someone spots one of
° them as "just ' what he was
looking for" and Jack had sold
his first painting. ,"I've just got
to have a receipt"or something to
show that I sold one or the boys
at the mine would never believe
me!" So, another budding artist,
and I just hope he does more of
this work.
We have so many artists' and
crafts people that I can't tellyou
about at this time, but we surely
thank them ALL for contributing
to the success of our '69 Art

You always expect a friendly
atmosphere in a' small town but
when it comes to painting your
neighbour's house = while he is
away is something most people
won't believe. Well, they didn't
paint it they PAPERED it - and,
on the OUTSIDE!
In this little section of our
town the neighbors get together
for backyard fun with food and
music and genuine friendliness -
which seems to be missing in so
- many towns today.
• When Tony went "back
home" for a visit they said they'd
. parrot his house for -him - "what
color do you want?" "Any color,
as long as it is a good job," he
challenged them. But they all got
cold feet and when they heard
from Tony giving the time of his
returnal}d hoping • _they ;had.
painted the house, they thought
they had better DO something:
,S6 they got some black wallpaper
and a great• many other things
and really decorated his house.
Luckily everyone enjoyed the
joke,' and Tony and Mary realize
the neighborhood loves them
after all.
There should be m.ore'of this
friendliness and fun in the town.
Life is getting so warped, for so
many people, that our young
people never see or hear of any of
these old fashioned get togethers,
they only know one line in a
song, which is repeated over and
over; and think their elders are
old fogies who don't know how
to have a good time.
Well, I could say a int more on
this subject but I think you get
the picture!
