Hospital. The tally was 2-0, for
the Clippers. At 9 p.m. the same -
day DRMCO wiped out \ord's
Sports 5-2.
On July 6, DRMCO made
come -back of its own against th
Ontario Hospital squad with a

July 7, tWvo games were on
the card. Goderich Mfg, and
(lord's Sports' met at 7 p.m. and
finished with a win for Gord's
Sports of 8-1. At 9 p.m.

Kinettes softball starts
The first games of the newly
formed Goderich Kinette Club
Junior Softball League were held
this month at Victoria School.
The league consists of four
teams made up of girls from 11
to 15 years of age. The teams are
the Blockbusters coached by
Mrs. V. Fuller, Mrs. G. Gardiner

"A police force was organized
in Montreal in 1815 composed
of - 25 men who carried long
staves: painted blue. They wore
lanterns -at their belt and°carriedz

of their duties when' street
lighting was introduced, was to
"light the lamps. They also had to
attend to snow removal, enforce
health regulations and at •
election 'time, quell ` those

high," the program :continues,

International Police Hall of
Fame begins.

1967 at the Centennial Home.

Benmiller has a . new singing
group now formed last fall. They
are known as the "Jolly Millers'
and they will direct an open air
sing song on Sunday. eveing bn
the lawn beside Benmiller
church.
• This all musical evening is

U.C.W. as a community project,
hoping that those who enjoyed.

A bit of astute police work
by a Goderich, officer landed a
Stayner man in jail last weekend
when the, man wanted only to
get to a service station for gas. _
Police• • Constable . Melville
Greg was stopped on The Square
• by the man who asked for
directions. Constable Greg. felt
something wasn't quite right;
asked for identification and
when the 'man could produce
none, took him to the police
station for questioning.
Subsequent enquiries with
the •Oriminal Investigation
Division in Toronto revealed the
man was wanted by the Ontario
Provincial Police in Stayner for
break, enter and theft.
Donald L. Jameson, 20,
who's last known address .was

returned. to . Stayner to.,await
trial.
