I hope there were not too
many gardens ripped to pieces

across Saltford — I saw one
lovely garden where the tomato
plants and pepper plants that
had really had a good start -
were completely wiped out and
everything in the area cut to
ribbons.

freezer. They should keep them
there until " next fall to show
people what happened to their
gardens, roofs, windows and
trees — it's hard to believe!
Well, you lucky people, there
is another treat for you next
Wednesday the 25th. The gals at
Victoria Street Church are
having one of their famous
suppers — dressed pork with all ,
the fixings — and they . know
how to fix' them — and ,
strawberries and cream with
home-made cake! The weather
had better warm up or those
strawberries are going to be
expensive! Tonite — Thursday
the 19th, Don Messer is at
Clinton Community Centre —
and "Don't you forget IT!"

SO many things to do and you
really get INVOLVED! This is
"good for you — and they always
welcome new people. Here's

having their annual banquet and
business meeting — and you are

Concerts
Recently ' the Community
Concert Association held its
annual Campaign for. members.
The Association is pleased to
announce the coming attractions
for the 1969-70 season which
will include the "First Chamber
Dance Quartet" — a' group that
performs every," type of dance
from ballet to the watusi, the
Revellers Male Quartet and then
- something ' quite new to
Goderich — Ted Allan Worth
will be featured at the console of
the electronic organ.
The Revellers concert and the
organ program will be 'presented
in the smaller auditorium, while
the dance quartet will be seen in
the larger auditorium and of
course all concert will be heard
at the GDCI commencing this
year at a new time, 8:15 P.M.
M'R•S: DAV I D KING
Mrs. ' David King, Goderich,
died- at Alexandra Marine and
General . Hospital on 'Monday •
June 9, after a lengthy illness.
She was 51. '
Mrs. King ' was born Sadie
Gardiner Bushell in Kincardine
Township on August 10, 1917, a
daughter of ' John Bushell and
the former 'Rebecca Gardiner.
She lived in Kincardine
Township until her marriage to'
David King, when she moved to
.„Culcross Township, moving to
Goderich in 1968.
Mrs. King was a. graduate of
Stratford Teachers College. She
was a member of the Cathois
Women's League, Sacred Her
Church,. Teeswater, and a former
member of the Women's
Institute at Whitechurch.
Mrs. King „was predeceased by
two children, Donald, in 1967
and Clair, in 1964.
Surviving with her husband
are, a daughter, Pamela, t
home; five brothers, Jolt
Bushell and James Bushell, both
of Kincardine Township; William
Bushell, Ripley; Harold Bushell,
Gull Lake, Sask and lived
Bushell, Scarborough.
The funeral mass was said at
Sacred Heart Roman Catholic
Church, Teeswater, at r2 noon,
on Thursday, June 12. Rev. F. J.
Swain officiated.
Interment was in Sacred Heart
Cemetery, Teeswater.
Pallbearers, all nephews, were
Keith Bushell, Bob Bushell,
David Johnson, Bill Johnson,
Harry Colling, and Jin Martin.
Flowerbearers also nephews,
were ,Ken Johnson and Don
McGregor. *

The Huron County Board of the Children's Aid Society met in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Pat Osborn,
13 Bennett Street, Wednesday, June 11. The afternoon was highlighted party to honor
the retirement of Mrs. F. Lauder, after 15' years as a social worker with this board. Mrs:` Howard
Klumpp, Dashwood, president Huron.tounty Board, presented a gift on behalf of the board to Mrs.
Lauder, right. Mrs. Lauder plans to stay in Goderich, and has just moved into a new home. "My
children are 'living in Toronto, and I plan to visit them frequently, but I have no wish to live in a large
city. It's always good to return t9tGoderich," Mrs. Lauder said.

The Western Ontario Highland
Dancing Association's annual
competition is expected to draw
at least 70 contestants to Huron,
Centennial School, Brucefield,
on Sunday.
The event was held last year
in Goderich, The public is
invited to the activities which
start' at 10 a.m. and end late in
the afternoon. Refreshments will
be available and a collection will
be taken. -Participants will be
coming from as far as Brantford,,
Galt, - London, Stratford,
Kitchener and Guelph.
