Hold Presbyterial meeting

Presbyterial of the Women's
Missionary - Society of the
Presbyterian Church was in
charge of the spring meeting
held in the Carmel Presbyterian
Church ,hall, last, Wednesday
afternoon. The meeting was
opened by singing 0 Master let
me• walk with Thee with Mrs. S.
Dougall at the piano. After a
welcome tci the representatives
and W. M. S. members, an
inspiring devotional . period was
conducted by-Mrs.,John Pollock
of Goderich the president of the
Presbyterial. • Sher based her
remarks on the theme- Lovest
thou me? based on John 21st.
chapter, and closed with prayer.
The minutes of the previous
meeting were accepted as read
by Mrs. Wilfred Sanderson in the
absence of the secretary. Mrs. R.
Dyke. The treasurer, Mrs.
Arnold MacDonald gave a
summary of Synodical Society
of the W. M. S. held a month ago
in Goderich. Mrs. W. •Bradnock
also gay her report as delegate
'to this same meeting and closed
with a.short memorial service in
memory . pf the late Mrs.
Wellington Good of Blyth who
had been a faithful W. M. S.
worker and secretary for
children's work and at the time
of her death was Friendship and
Service secretary. A sympathy
card was signed and sent to Mr.
Good.
A piano duet, Nearer my God
to Thee, with variations, • was
played by Mrs. S. Dougall and
Mrs. E. Munn.
The guest speaker of the
afternoon was Miss Barbara
Woodruff of London, regional
secretary of the Hamilton and
London Synodical. She outlined
the work bf the W. M. S., and
explained the new report forms
and told how they should be
filled °out. A question period
followed. Mrs. Gordon Schwalm
of Hensel( thanked • Miss
Woodruff. The • offering was
received by Rey. Anne
Wightman and Mrs. Garner
Nocholson of Belgrave. Plans
were made to hold the fall rally
at Belgrave--and the meeting
closed with the benediction.
Tiger Dunlop WI meets
The Tiger Dunlop Institute
'net May 27 in the township hall
at Carlow. After the roll call, the
motto "A good homemaker, not
only does her own work in her
home, but also in the
community," was taken by Mrs.
Emmerson Elliott.
Mrs. Ralph Jewell took the
topic on Honie Economics and
Health, -
The 4-H Club gave a skit
entitled one pound of hamburg.
Mrs Elfred Moore. and Mrs.
Ralik Jewell were appointed
delegates to the District Annual
in Goderich.
Plans were made for the
Sunshine Sister's banquet in
Auburn June 5•
June 26 was set for the
banquet for the graduating.
Grade 8 pupils.
Mrs. Elmer Bunter gave an
interesting •report on the Guelph
conference; the theme being "To
live for oneself is not to live at
all."
Lunch was served by Mrs.
Terence Hunter, Mrs. I'. Kloeze
and Mrs. E. Reaburn.
