the woods getting small plants —

We would investigate all the
puddles and the streams — and

Trent Frayne family linked

By Pat Martin
- The following episode is
rather , unusual, accomplished
very little, but the context is
amusing and it deals with the
Frayne family in Kingsbridge,
Compliments of Trent Frayne
On April 29, when June
Callwood, -noted writer and T,V.
personality from Toronto spoke
at a ladies' luncheon in
Goderich, she mentioned to a
few ladies that she had distant
relatives in'Kingsbridge.
This was a pleasant surprise
to the people of Kingsbridge and

Of brief and possibly
humorous note (as you request)
I. can only tell you that any of
the Fraynes I know have an
incredible propensity for
unusual first, or given naives. My
father is Milford Homer, Frayne,
his father was Lorenzo, and I
have a local' acquaintance (who
may or may not be related)
named Antcliffe Ayisworth
Frayne. My own name is Trent
Gardiner Frayne, but that was
an accident. My parents were
convinced I'd be a girl; had
selected -Dorothy as the name,
and were dumfounded when a

what's happened is that my wife
and close friends call me Bill.
This doesn't appear very
interesting and, certainly doesn't
reflect on the llth Century you
mention but I really don't know
anything about the' antecedents,
Sincerely,
Trent Frayne
