The paint, ompany exec- utives knew, w uld do the job. Lab tests and boat tests proved it. But would people be, tempted to take unfair advan- tage of the guarantee? Morality triumphed, Many boaters bought the paint, a year has gone by, and only two. have asked for, a make -good on the guarantee. Each, it is sus- pected, either scraped off the paint on a sand bar or applied it incorrectly in the first place. Still, • each received a tele- phoned apology from William' R.
