•y Coronary artery disease
Coronary artery disease is
h rdening of the arteries which
supply the muscle of the heart
*nd hence among the most
IIIPPortant arteries in the body .
Many suggestions have been
made to prevent It, but none is
,foolproof, says the Ontario
MedicafXssociation.
• I!tletors have known for a
long time that coronary artery
v disease is more ' common in
people who are very much'
overweightu obese. As. a result
there has been great interest in
the matter of diet: whether the
eating of certain foods' might
eause . and 'aggravate coronary
disease, and whether,, as it
appears, an high fat diet makes a
person more likely to become a
victim.
During the past 10 years
there has been more medical
Interest about . factors which
have nothing to do with diet.
Extensive. studies on the
smoking of cigarettes seem to
indicate that the habit is a very
important. factor. The person
wh has had coronary disease
can reduce .the risk of further
trouble by stopping smoking.
1'he O.M.A. reports that
studies are being made of the
relationship between exercise, or
the lack ' o f it, and ,coronary
artery disease. It is believed that
people who take regular
exercise, or through their jobs
keep -physically fit, are less likely
to have coronary artery disease
than those who do not. It, is also
felt that a person who has had a
coronary attack might be less
likely to have further trouble if
he participates in a carefully
planned program of lexercise.

In their play, they act out the
world as they see jt: They will
pretend they are mother at
home, father going to work, the
telcher,, the postman and so on.
Play-acting helps them to
become more familiar with the
world- around them. It also
enables .them to express
whatever anger, fear; . or even
hate they may have stored up.
Since they are doing this only
"in fungi', it is a mentally healthy
outlet for children. But,
remember, you can learn a lot
about your child's feelings and
problems by the way he plays.
