The Walkerburn Club held its
Monthly meeting at the home of
*Walter Cunningham. The
president, Mrs. Ted Hunking,
was in charge.
The minutes were adopted as
read by Mrs. George Schneider.
The roll -call was answered by
eachmember quoting an Easter
verse. The financialstatement
was given by the treasurer, Mrs.
Thomas Cunningham.
Plans were ,made for the' next
meeting to have a bake sale and
the proceeds will ' go to the
crippled' children's fund and the
Cancer Society. The next
meeting will beheld at the home
of Mrs. James Jackson with the
program to be in charge of Mrs.
George Schneider and Mrs.
Jackson. Mrs. Arie Duizer and
Mrs. John Hallam will plan the
lunch and the roll call will be
answered by naming a household
hint.
The afternoon's program -of

Messers Larry . Leverton of
Hamilton and John McCharles of
Petrolia.
Recent visitors with Mr. Tom'
Farrell were the Murray McGill
family of Goderich.
Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Eldon
Bradley for the Easter Weekend
were Miss Phyllis .Bradley and
Mr. David Todd of Toronto and
Mr. John Bradley of Guelph.
Church services were held 'at
Ashfield Presbyterian Church on
Good Friday morning conducte,i
by R. Ken Rooney.
Visiting at the Don
'MacDonald homestead were Mr.
and Mrs. Finlay MacDonald and
family of Chatham and misses
Sally and Louise MacDonald of
Windsor.
Mrs. Henry MacKenzie spent
a few days in Owen Sound
where she visited with sisters
Eliza and Ediia Cook and with
'her father Mr. `Albert Cook who
is a patient in hospital there. '
Master Kenneth Finlayson is
back to school after a bout with
the Chicken Pox.
Mr. ,Ray MacKenzie of
Toronto spent the weekend., at
the Henry MacKenzie home.
. Visiting at the home of. Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Finlayson for
the holiday. were Mr. and Mrs.
Paul Emberlin of Toronto and
Mr. Rod .Finlayson of Sarnia.
Mr: Finlay MacLennon of
Kitchener spent the weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. D. A.
MacLennon.
- Recent visitors with Mr. and
Mrs. Frank MacLennon were Mr.
and Mrs. Don Ainsley and family
of Toronto.
A farewell parfy was held at
North Ashfield School on
Wednesday evening when gifts
were presented to Mrs. Hugh
MacKenzie and Mr. Kenneth
MacKenzie ' now of Goderich.
Mrs. MacKenzie plans to leave
shortly pn a trip to... Western
Canada.
Miss Doris Wylds of Toronto
spent the weekend with Mr. and
;Mrs. Don Wylds.
contests, readings and games was
enjoyed under the direction of
Mrs. Arte Duizer and Mrs. John
Hallam. A delicious lunch of
doughnuts and coffee was served
by ;firs. Joe j-lunking and Mrs.
Henry •Hunking.
The Auburn Kool Kuts 4-H
met for itg eighth meeting at the.
home of the leader, Mrs. W.
Bradnock. The president, Sharon
Collins, opened the meeting with
the 4-1i creed followed by the
minutes read by Doreen
McClinchey. The roll call was
answered, by 'each girl, telling a.
special feature of their record
books. A meat review of cuts
and how to cook them was
taken by Mrs. Donald Haines.
Plans were made for the skit
for achieveme t Day and also to
entertain the`.g'ls' mothers and
Women's Institute members on
Morday. evening April 21 in the
hall.
On ,the, program committee
are Doreen McClinchev', Carol
Gross and Arva Sall, On the
lunch committee are 'Ronna
Chamney; Barbara Chamney,
Susan Thompson and Trudy
Machan. The meeting books are
to be in by April 12.

minutes on Friday and Saturday

Youngblut. in Clinton Hospital.

meet Mrs. Sizer
Members of the Helping
Haxids were surprised and
delighted when on gathering for'
their weekly meeting a special
visitor . joined them, in the
person of Mrs. R. Sizer of
England Mrs. ,Sizer is visiting her
only son ., Douglas Sizer and
family, whom she has not seen
for almost 23 years, and met her
two grandsons for the first time.
Her son was one of the
R.A.F. members who arrived in
an open truck in pouring rain on
a bleak November day at Port•
Albert, ,in•;the second world war.
The Helping Hands members
have corresponded with Mrs.
Sizer for 20 years.
Two other little visitors also
joined in for- the meeting:

Band, with kind permission of
Colonel Reynolds, competed at
North America's largest Indoor
Highland Games in Toronto on
Saturday: The Band, organized,
by the Battalion a short time
ago, is under the leadership of
Pipe Major Bill Millar of
•Goderich and boasts a number
of players from this town.
On Saturday the Band entered
a Quartette, at the Toronto.
Games, in Grade 2 or B Class
competition. A , total of 12
quartettes from as far away as
Wilmington, Delaware,
competed for the Alex
Robertson trophy - and the
London Band won it- handily
with 146 points out of a total
150. Charlie MacDonald from
Goderich, along with Pipe Major
Millar provided one half of the
winning quartette.
