He gave an illustrated lecture on China and tolabout the problems of the Chinese people. • Receiving the guests at the Rotor were Mrs. Harold Webster and Mrs. William Dodds. The organist,. Mrs. Norman Wightman, played while the guests and members assembled. The president, Mrs. M. R. Roberts, gave the call to worship and opened the meeting with thoughts on Faster, Mrs. Stanley Ball- led the service of worship and read the scripture lesson. The offering, was received by Mrs. Albert McFarlane and Mrs. William De Jong and dedicated CGIT meets The Auburn C.G.I.T. group held its meeting in the Sunday school room of Knox United Church. The president, Marie. Plunkett, was in charge. • _ • _Betty _-Moss- was pianist. Norma 'Noble read the scripture lesson, and led in prayer. The offering was ' received and dedicated. Sherry Plaetzer gave the w treasurerrs report and the minutes were accepted as read ;by the secretary, Shelley Grange, The roll call was answered by each girl telling what they did during the spring vacation. • Marie Plunkett conducted the business' period. Sherry Plaetzer•. and Lynn Turner read a dialogue entitled "Demonstration." It was decided that the next meeting would be devoted to making posters and' planning for a bake pale 'to be held on April a 19. The meeting closed with Taps, "ROUNDTMETOWN Vie seventh meeting of the Auburn Kool Tuts 4-H club was held with . Gail Seers in charge. The ' minutes were read by Doreen McClinchey and the roll call was answered by naming the menu for the day for their family. A discussron took place on varietyand processed meats. Plans were made for the skit and Mrs. p' Do.nald Haines demonstrated panfried liver with onions which most of the girls_ liked. , • Neighbors and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Roy • Easom honored them last Monday evening in the Auburn . Community Memorial hall. Cards were played and dancing was enjoyed to McClinchey's orchestra. Mr. Maurice Bean read an address and Mrs. William de Jong presented Mr. and Mrs. Easom with a cuckoo clock and a purse of money. Mr. and Mrs.. Easom are moving to their new home in Blyth. Attend Square Dance Over 50 interested parents, friends ' and square dancers enjoyed an evening of dancing recently in the Carlow Township Hall, under the direction "and calling of Mr. Glen Patterson of Goderich. ` , This group of young Junior Farmers from the surrounding district put" on a good show of square danc1ng both modern and old time. MRS. ROBERT HAMNEY The Auburn community was saddened on March 25 to learn of the • sudden death of . Mrs, Robert Chamney at her home. She, was born March 25, 1891 in West Wawanosh, the daughter of • Ed and Dinah rRobinson) Craig. Following hermarriage to Robert Chamney; on March 28,. 1910 they residedrt in West Wawanosh fbr many Fears until they retired to the village. . She .was a member of Knox, United Church and the UCW, a member of the Auburn Women's Institute and the Horticultural Society. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ernie (Verna) Doerr, Niagara • Falls; five ' sons, ',Edwin, Wingham; Herman, Windsor', C ham, RR 3, Goderich; Stuart, RR 2, Auburn and Gordon (Bud), RR 1, Auburn:a ''sister, Mrs. Kel McVittie;, Blyth and one brother, William J. Craig of Auburn; 28 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. The funeral service was held • at the Stiles Funeral Home with the Rev. M. R. Roberts in -charge. Burial took place in Colborne cemetery. During the service, Mr. William °S. Craig, of Clinton, a nephew, sang "Beyond . the Sunset." Several interested folk attended and heard Elmer . Huster, Huron County Federation of Agriculture prsesident, explain - GFO. Mr. Eldon --Culbert---chaired the meeting and..
