D 'Runners.up
Runners up in the .D series was a team from Zurich. They had
defeated Belmont, the winners for the;; last• three years, but were
themselves eliminated by a strong team from Copetown. C series
runners up was La team from" Glencoe who were dowered by the
"big gun" on the Uxbridge crew. Torn Newton, Uxbridge
captain, scored 27 goals in the series. How do you win against.

It took the Wingham and
Goderich Mite All Stars, four
games to decide which was' the
better seam and even after 240
minutes of hockey only one
goal decided'a winner.
In three previous games the
scores - were all tied. There, were
two 3-3 ties and one two all tie.
The final-.-game-.-was--played -

the locals came out the eventual
winner 3-2. ,
. Goderich scored first in the
opening period and it" was Steve
Arbour from Mike Nephew. It
took Wirigham only' three

minutes to tie the game up and
at the end • of the period the
teams were again deadlocked.
Wingham scored first en the
second and enjoyed a very short
lived' lead as Goderich came
back 35 seconds later to tie the
score again. The second period
ended in the teams being tied.

The Girl Guides held their
weekly meeting in the church
basement March 20 with .21

After the Toll call a game of
tag was enjoyed. The Guides
that had passed their Tenderfoot
tests went on to study the flag
and stalkifig• and the rest of the
girls tried some of their tests.
The Bluebird patrol
entertained during campfire with
songs like "Got a Hole in my
° Bucket" and others,
Lt. Tigert, was absent due to
sickness. The, meeting was closed
with taps.
