Mrs. Ted Hunking was hostess
to the Walkerburn club last
Wednesday when it held a
monthly meeting.
The meeting was opened by
singing "Q' Canada, with Mrs.,
James Jackson at the piano.
„The president, Mrs. '` Ted
Hunking, welcomed all to the -
meeting and. Mrs. Henry
Hunking led in the Lord's
Prayer.
Mrs. flunking introduced the
guest, of the afternoon, Mrs. W.
Bradridck, who 'recounted 'with
pictures a trip to Hor 91ulu. To
the music of Hawaii, Mrs..
Bradnock took her audience to
that . island in the Pacific,
showing places of interest:
The minutes of the previous
'meeting were .adopted as read by
the secretary, Mrs. Elliott Lapp.
•She ' also read the thank -you
notes received. The roll call was
answered by " quoting ° a
Valentine's verse. • The financial
statement was given by the
treasurer,. Mrs. Tom,
Cunningham.
It wrs decided . to send a
donation to support their foster
child in Korea. Pyjamas to be
sewed fcr the Children's Aid
Society were given to the
members.
The draw prize, donated by
Mrs. Joe Hunkifig, was won by
Miss Shirley Hunking. Plans were
made for the next meeting. to be
held at.. the hopie of Mrs. Walter
Cunnipgham. The program will „,,,
be in charge of Mrs. John' Hallam
and Mrs. Arie Duizer and the
lunch committee will be Mrs.
Henry Hunking and Mrs. •Ted
Hunking. The •roll call -will be
answered by an Easter verse.

The Auburn CGIT group of
Knox United Church met at the
home of the leader, Mrs. John
Hildebrand, with 11 girls and
their mothers present.
• The • president, Marie
Plunkett, opened the meeting by
welcoming the mothers and the
members and all repeated the
purpose. The minutes were
accepted • as .read 'the
- -secretary-,- • Shelley Grange, and
she also called the roll. A short
business period was conducted
by,the president. -
Everyone took part in the
World Day of Prayer service for
CGIT members. At 'the close of
this service, lunch was served by
Mrs, Hildebrand, assisted by Mrs.
Arthur Grange.

Representatives from the four
churches met last week in the
Sunday School ,room of "Knox
United Church to study the
possibility of a community
interdenominational church in
the village. After a lengthy
discussion period with Harold
Webster aS chairman and Donald
Haines as secretary, It was the
decision thatAuburn was -not
ready to take this step.
