Congratulations to Mr. and
Mrs. Carl Reigling who
celebrated their 25th wedding.
anniversary on Saturday,
February 15. A family dinner
was held at 'the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Reigling where the
couple were presented with a
reclining rocker .by the family.
Sympathy is extended to the
family and friends of the late
Mr. John Kelly who passed away
last Thursday at Huronview,
Clinton, in his 83rd' year. After
the funeral Mass on Saturday
and temporary entombment at
Dungannon Mausoleum, the
Catholic" Women's. League served
a buffet lunch for the mourners
in the school gymnasium.
Mr. and Mrs. Nick Perry,
Detroit, Michigan, and Mrs. T. J,
Lannon ' of London, recently
attended the funeral :of Mrs.
Albert Brown, Goderich.
There were nine tables at the
Friday night card party in the
school gymnasium sponsored by
the youth club. High couple
were Don Aubin and Miss Ahnie
Van Diepanbeek; low couple
were Benny Miltenberg 'and Mrs.
Finleon.
Mr, and Mrs. Bruce Hansford
and Ray of Galt were weekend
visitors to the area.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Martin and
• family spent Sunday in London
with Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lierman

enjoYed. -
Karla Reigling, chairlady,
read an . address • to the
bride-to-be and Ann was assisted
in opening her gifts by Sharon
Courtney and Mrs. Antone Van
Osch.
The guest of,honour thanked
everyone and -a lunch was served.

GEORGE O. DURNIIy
George Orville Durnin, 61
Blake Street, died suddenly at
Alexandra Marine and General
Hospital on Monday, February
10. He was 79.
Mr; - Durnin was born
December 2, 1889, in Ashfield
Township, a son of William
Durnin and the former Maria
Jane Russell. He lived in the
township until he moved to the
western provinces •where he
taught high school and farmed
for several years;, He came' to
Goderich when he retired 15
years ago..
He was an adherent of North
Street United Church.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs.
Maria Garnat, Victoria, B.C., and
several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held
at 12:30 p.m: on Thursday,
February 13, at Stiles `Funeral
Home. Reverend J. Donald
MacDonald officiated.,
Interment was in Dungannon
Cemetery.
, HARRY WITMER
Harry Witmer, died at his
home in Goderich on Thursday,
February 13, 1969. He was 79.
Mr. Witmer was born on
January 23, 1890 in Brown City,
Michigan, a son of Nathaniel
Witmer 'and 'the former Amelia
Clemens.
Mr. Witmer was married to
the- former Margaret` Jones and
had • been custodian _at .the Park
Theatre until this.year. He came
to Canada from the United
States 50 years ago and to
Goderich about 40 years ago. Ile
was• a member of . Knox
Presbyterian Church; in his
earlier life had been active. in -
Foresters and had been a
member of the Goderich Towti
Band for almost all the year he
had lived here.
He was predeceased by hiswife who died in 1959. Surviving
are one daughter, Mrs. George
•(Agnes) McLeod, Goderich; one
sister, Mrs. .Warren (Ella)
Ambersley, Toronto, and two
grandchildren-, Rodger and .
Cherita McKnight.
The funeral service was held
at Lodge Funeral Home at 3
p.m. on Saturday, February 15.
Reverend R. U. McLean
officiating.
Interment .-was in Maitland
Cemetery:- Pallbearers were:
Harold Jeffrey, Dr. James Peters,
Charles Kalbfleisch, Robert
McGill, Charles McCabe and
James Horton. Flowerbearer was
Jeff Fester.
JOHN KELLY
John Kelly, a resident of
I-iuronview, died at his residence
on • Wednesday, February 12,W
following ,A lengthy illness. He
was 82. 1
Mr. Kelly was born on
October 21, 1886, in County
Deary, Ireland, arson of Mr. and
Mrs. John Kelly. He immigratedto Canada in 1929 and lived in
the western provinces until 1937
when he moved to Kingsbridge.

Elizabeth Cassidy and had
farmed in Kingsbridge until
1962;
He was a mertiber. of St.
Joseph's Roman Catholic
Church, Kingsbridge. He was
predeceased by his parents, and
by one 'son, Charles. Surviving
are his wife; five "sons, James,
Sudbury; Joe, Camarillo,
California; Dan, Brigden;
Patrick, Holyoke, Mass.; Walter,
London; four daughters, Mrs.
George Glary) Essery, Goderich;
Mrs. Harold (Winnie)•Hurley, Ft.
McMorray, . Alta.; Mrs. Fred
(Eileen) Wocks, Schomberg -and
-Mrs. William (Bridget) Hodgins,
Sarnia; and 26 grandchildren. -
Requ.iem Mass was celebrated
-at -10:30 ' a.rn. on. Saturday,
February 15, - at St. Joseph's
Roman Catholic Church,.Kingsbridge. Reverend Father. 11.
Galea officiated. -
-. Interment was in Kingsbridge
Cemetery. Pallbearers were:
Danny Kelly, David Kelly, Dalen
Kelly, John Wocks, Jerry Wocks
and; Joseph Essery, all grandsons
of Mr. Kelly.
Lodge Funeral Home was in
charge pt. arrangements.

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH
The dance that was held on
Friday, February. 14, was a
smashing success. We- had a live
band Jo entertain us. The
members, were Jim Schram, Jim
Vance, John Carrick, Steve
Remmington and Nina Knight.
Miss Melitzer; Mr. Bogie,- 'Mr.
Crawford and Mr. Moore came,
and even danced.
-Clash Day which was also
-held---on---Friday was a success.

Last week we were paid a
rather unusual visit from Al
Oeming and his pet cheetah. Mr.
Deming is famous for his Alberta
Games Fariin. He has travelled to
many exciting places and has
made a film, which has won the
highest awards in the world Mr.
Oeming left •a book with, Mry
Hazlitt for the library. e will
be, getting a new, Year BdOk for
the library also.
