Bloor- Street United Church,
Toronto, was- the scene of a
pretty wedding on Saturday,
December 28, at 4 p.m. when
ABernadette Marie, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs: Emilien Arsenault,
Monctons. N.B., was united in
r marriage to Frederick, Stewart
Dickson, son of Mrs. Mary
Dickson, Toronto, and the late
Wm. Dickson. The ceremony
took , place in a candlelight
setting with baskets of red mums
at the 'altar, and ,holly and
poingettias in keeping with the
season decorated the church. "
Reverend Dor,ld Gillies
officiated at the double ring'
ceremony. The ,soloist, Mrs.
Donald Gillies, accompanied by _
the organist, Miss L. Palmer, ,
sang -"Oh Lord Most Holy" and
"The, Lord's Prater".
e ride Was given
marriage. by her father and wore
a long white velvet gown with
three-quarter sleeves trimmed
with fur. panel at the back
formed "atrain.° The
shoulder -length veil was held in
place by a crown of white roses
and pearl trim. She wore the
groom's gift, a necklace of
pearls,; and carried, a bouquet of
red roses and white stephanotis.
Her bridesmaid, %1iss Eileen
Wilson "of London, England,
chose a floor -length gown of .
cherry -red velvet witha high
neck and long sleeves on classic
lines. Her headpiece was
combined of white velvet bows
and short knotted streamers. She
carried 'a nosegay of white
"roses The groorp.was attended
by Gary Diamond, Toronto, and
the ushers were Gerrard
Arsenault, brother of the bride,
from Moncton, • N.B., and
Kenneth Dickson, brother of the
groom, from- Nassau, Bahamas, .
After , the ceremony, guests
were received at a dinner and
receptjon held at Old Spain
Restaurant, Toronto. The bride's
P mother chose a two-piece gold
knit suit with black accessories
and a corsage of coral roses. The
groom's mother wore an
ensemble of peacock blue velvet,
matching pillbox hat and black
accessories with a ' corsage of

red wool dress topped with a
gold coloured coat with fur
collar and matching gold colour

The young couple were the
recipients of many beautiful
gifts and numerous showers had
. been held for the bride. They
will reside gin Toronto. Guests
were present from Hamilton,
Algoma, Nassau, Moncton , Port
Albert and other out-of-town
places. ,
West Ellesmere United
Church,' Scarborough, was the
setting on December 28, 1968,
at 4:30 p.m: for the candlelight
wedding of Shirley Agnes,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norval
Anderson to, Peter V. Halozan,
son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Aloiz Halozan, Yugoslavia.
The ceremony was performed
by Reverend J, Berkely -
Reynolds and the, church . -was.
decorated in .keeping with the
Christmas season. White satin
bows on a background of white
..pine adorned the pews,
complimented by poinsettias
and baskets of red, and white
carnations in the chancel.
Mrs. Mary Peirson sang "Our
Prayer" and "The- Gate Of The,.
Year" , with the musical
arrangement composed by the
organist, Mrs. Jean Forsythe.
• The bride was ..given
.marriage by her father, and wore
a princess semi -fitted gown in
satin brocade of floral print
design with long sleeves and a
mandarin collar edged. with seed
pearls. The back featured` an
empire line with a floating train.

lovers. hots with holly.

Following the ceremony, -a
reception and dance was held in
the banquet room of the
Monticello Restaurant. The
knife used by the bride and
groom to cut the wedding cake
was a wedding gift to the bride's
grandmother, Mrs: Agnes Foster,
58 years ago. The bride's mother
diose a dress in Dior blue of
Chinese silk with beaded collar
and three-quarter length sleeves.
Her tulle and velvet hat and
.shoes were in contrasting shades-,
of blue, and she wore a corsage
of garnette red roses with blue
and silver net. •
The happy couple motored to
-a ski lodge in Northern Ontario
for a. short 'honeymoon and plan
an `.extended trip to.. Europe in
.August 1969. The bride' wore a
three-piece suit_ in American
beauty needlepoint °trimmd
with bleached raccoon. matching
velvet hat and black ,.patent
leather accessories.
Guests were present from
Goderieh, llamilton, Dundas,
Stoney , Creek, . Toronto,

of Beverley Ann Culvert and
Kenneth Albert Ohm at 8 p.m.

the bride's cousin; was chairlady.
She was assisted in opening the
gifts, by sisters Arlene and Lynn
and her cousin' Bonnie Culbert.
Beverley thanked everyone and a
lunch was served.
