On February 6,' the Guides
opened the meeting with roll
call. The Guides went to patrol
corners and had a game on girl
guide history which proved to be
hard but a lot of fun. They then
studied "woodcraft sign" to
learn how to lay a trail. Mrs.
Tigert had a game on the sign.

The Goderich Branch of the
Women's Institute held their
annual banquet in Victoria
United Church on , Thursday,
February 6 at 1 p.m. Mrs. Robt.
Wilson presided and Mrs..,Vrank
Hawkins was at the piano for the
meeting. which opened with the
singing of, the Ode and repeating
the Mary Stewart Collect.
Mrs, Helen Westbrook sang
solos accompanied by Mrs. Jas.
Snyder. 'These included "Silver
,Bells", "Where are you going",
"1 Believe" and "His eye is on
the Sparrow" and were very
much enjoyed by the ladies.
Mrs. Clifford Crozier
expressed appreciation to Mrs.
Westbrook and Mrs. Snyder,
Mrs. Wilson thanked the ladies
of the church for the lovely
dinner and Mrs. Geo. Campbell
replied. A short business meeting
followed which included the
secretary's report read by Mrs.
Jack Cook. The roll call was
answered by 53 members and
.there were 25 visitors.

Paterson. The 1969 Officers
Conference at Guelph will be
held April 30 and May 1. Mrs.

' The monthly meeting of the.
Harmony Circle was held
February 5 at 8 p.m. in Victoria'
Street United Church.
The meeting was opened with
the call to- worship, then Miss
Elaine Bamford conducted the
devotional period beginning with
the hymn "From Iceland's ,Icy
Mountains".
The scripture • 'lesson from
Psalms was read in unison. Miss
Bamford gave a .meditation
reading from The Upper Room
ending with , prayer 'hand the
Lord's Prayer. The offering was
received and dedicated and the,
birthday and shut-in boxesm,were
passed. •
