MRS. JEANI. McDONAL
. Mrs. Jean Isabel McDonald,
Goderich, died at Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital
on January 26. She was 48. .
Mrs. McDonald?was born Jean,
Sedgwick in Toronto on June
14, 1920, a daughter of William
Wentworth Sedgwick and the
former Isabel Barrett. She spent
most of her life in Toronto. She
was^ married to' Ernest A.
McDonald in - Iroquois, 'where
they lived for one year. They
then moved back to Toronto
where they hved until moving to
Goderich 15 years ago.
`Mrs. McDonald was a past
member of the Gt derich Curling
Club.
Surviving are her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. W. W. Sedgwick,
Toronto; her husband, Ernest
McDonald, • Goderich; two
-Children, William, Toronto, and
Julia at home; two sisters, Mrs.
Peter . (Elizabeth Mae) Bax,.
Toronto, and Mrs. Arthur (Nora
Eileen) Savin, Courtenay, B.C.;
one brother, James Sedgwick,
Toronto.
The funeral service was held
at.- Lodge Funeral Home at _.2.
p.m. on Wednesday, January 29.
The Reverend G. G. • Russell
officiated.
Interment followed in..
Maitland Cemetery. Pallbearers
were: Clyde Everett, Bill
Gardner, Pat Osborne, Laurie
Marshall, Jack Whetstone, and
Ed Jeffery.
JOHN ZWAAN
John Zwaan of RH 5 Clinton,
died at Clinton Public Hospital
last Saturday after a two-year •
illness. He was 57 -years old.
He was hom in Holland on
October '27, 1911 and came to
Canada in 1950 'With his .wife,-
the forrrrer Hilda'Fugenann.
He was a member of Bethel,
Reformed_Church, Exeter.

Besides his wife, he., is
survived, by his mother and ,
stepfather, Mr._ and Mrs. Peter
Meurs orf. Holland; three sons,
John. of RR 1, Brticefield, Peter
o1 Brucefield, .and Alfred of the
home address; two daughters,
Mrs.. Laverne (En'a) Ackersviller
cif Stratford and Mrs. Sam (Tina)
Lawrence of Goderich and 10
grandchildren.

Reverend Harmen Heeg' of
Bethel.-• Reformed Church,
Exeter, officiating. Interment
was. in Baird's Cemetery, Stanley
Township. ' '" .
Pallbearers were Don Glen,
Robert Glen, Fred Gibson,
Geroge Cantelon, Hank Excel
and Klaas Staring.

ROBERT J. DURNIN
Robert James Durnin,
Goderich, died January 25 at
Alexandra hospital, Goderich.'
He was 95.2' °
He was born' Novemtaer 16,
1873 in West , Wawanosh
Township, the fourth son and`
the ninth child of the family of
Charles Durnin and Rebecca
Smyth. On December. 27, 1898
he married the former Henrietta
Crawford ,•in.. Port Albert. They
lived in West Wawanosh for five
years and then moved ' to
Ashfield... In August of 1,967 Mr.
Durnin moved to , Maitland,
Manor nursing home in
Goderich. . D
Mr. Durnin was an adherent
of St. Paul's Anglican Church,
Dungannon.
He was predeceased by his
wife. Surviving are a son,
Chester, Lehigh Acres, Fla.; a
daughter, Flora, Dungannon; a
grandson, two granddaughters
and 13 great-grandchildren, all
of the United- States. He is also
survi0ed by three,
sisters -in -law --Mrs. Ernest
Durnin, Washington; Mrs,
Richard Durnin,' Montana, 'and -
,Mrs. Charles Crawford,--- Port
Albert.
• The funeral service took place
at Stiles Funeral Home Monday,
'January 27 at 2:00 p.m. The
Reverend G.G. Russell
officiated.
• Interment followed in
Dluigannon. Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bertrum.
Crawford, Murray Wilson,
Wayne Durnin, Douglas
Crawford, John Black and Paul
Caesar. honorary pallbearer was
Brown Smith.
Knbx Afternoon) Auxiliary Meets +'
The meeting of the atternoon
Auxiliary of the W.M,S. of Knox.
Presbyterian Church was heldin
the Parlour on Tuesday
afternoon. The President opened
the : meeting 'with prayer, and
presided for the business period.
She reported that a joint
meeting of representatives from
the W.M.$., Auburn Circle and
the Ladies Aid was held recently,
to. make plans for the meeting of
the Synodical- of Hamilton and
London, to be ,held in Knox
-Church, Goderich on April 15,
16, and 17 and a report has been
sent to the Convener. Publicity
tip be arranged later.
' -Miss L. Macarthur, Friendship
and Sruice secretary, reported
.eihosp�ital calls and 29 borne
calls which were greatly
appreciated when the weather
was so stormy.
• The secretary. read a letter
from Miss Hazel ' Macdonald
expressing' her thanks to the
members for the Pin presented
to her before leaving for Kenya,
