Once again it is that time of year w
when" we are asked to support minor.
hockey, and to remind our readers of that
already, well-known Mogan "Don't send R
Take your boy to the arena."
We are .willing• to do this because we
agree there should be special .recognition
of the men (and.wome•n)who make minor .
• hockey possible .here.
The local minor hockey association is
composed Of enthusiastic, hard:working
volunteers whose efforts on behalf 'of
local youngsters cannot be measured in
hours or dollars. They make, it possible for
hundreds of our youngsters to take part in
Canada's ,National sport. Every boy, in
'town can have the, opportunity to play,
and nonewill be turned away. That's the
kind of an -organization it is.
More than• ttl at, they contribute
towards the development not only' of
stronger bodies, but of healthier minds -
and better citi4,ens. They keep the
youngsters off the streets and °engaged in
healthy, supervised- sport. We do agree
with the slogan ."1 o keep a boy out ,agree
hot
water — put him on ice". Our
rr •r.n.icipality has provided' .the ice, our
volunteers do the work to "put hien on -
ice".'
