Their racing course was built in the basement recreation room of McCreath's Pieton Street hOme. 'Amateur Model Racing Asgooiation' is the name these model sports car buffs klave adopted for themselves. Each of them has an official capacity within their club; Arch Hunter is race director; Bruce McCreath is secretary and Howard Lumby is race course timer. Any GDCI student wishing to participate in this exciting hobby should contact a member of the Amateur Model Racing Association. In order to ac. quaint interested individuals with their operations, secretary Bruce McCtpath has written the following account of their model sports car club: "The track, equipped with three lanes and a lap length of 42 feet, ,was built by Bruce - McCreath, with the assistance of Arch Hunter and Howard Lumby. Races are held every Mon. day night at '7 p.m. when ra.c. ing association members com- pete for tfi-e most points. Three types of model sports carsare used for the races, which are: Gran Sport; Gran Tourismoand Gran Prix. . Prior to the races a concours or, 'beauty contest' is held,' in order to determine which car is most realistic. Each person is awarded a number of points for winning a concours event and a race. At the end of the season the person with the highest number of points is awarded a trophy. The cars are 1/32 scale dup.
