Bev Wright, Goderich Dodgers' pitcher, struck- out 17° batters over the full nine innings which she pitched, She further contri, buted to the Dodger's victory with three hits which were respon- sible for the majority of the Dodger runs. • For Milverton, the top batter was Lynn 'Hyde who connected for ' two hits. Each side committed two errors. Next game of this series was scheduled for` Wednesday night at Milverton. Hannover' was to have played a game with Milverton ladies over the weekend. If Hanover were to lose their match with Milverton and Goderich win their next game, this performancewould give the championship to the Dodgers. Shduld Hanover have won their last game, both they and Goderich will be tied with a two won — one lost record: Should that be the case, they, will face each other once more in an exciting, sudden -death game. * * *' * * News from Richard Madge, publicity director. for Goderich's Junior B Booster Club, indicates that town and surrounding area hockey'fans may anticipate some exciting action from the team that is being built here this' season. A recent letter from the Junior 'B publicity director, informing us of recent ' developments within their hockey organization, reads as follows: "As their Centennial project, the members of the Booster Club are going all out to bring top quality hockey back to Goderich." Added interest will be provided this year when the interlocking schedules* Central and Western divisions of 'the Junior B league goes into effect for the first time; Goderich Siftos, will again be ranked with teams in the central division. Althotggh Coach Jack Evans is working hard lining up players with which to build a competitive team, more than, skilled • and efficient management is required to establish a successful Junior B hockey club. . The projected budget for this season runs close to $20,000. Financing a hockey team of this calibre demands that members of the Junior B Booster Club and sports fans alike, give full support to this town's return to Junior B hockey. The Ladies Auxiliary of the Booster Club has already raised over $1,000L with the two Centennial dances which they sponsored during' the summer. This - newly ' formed group is hoping to raise enough money to pay bus transportation costs for the Goderich Junior B team. c- • ' * * * ' * * $* - Hockey season here gets its annual,• unofficial face-off this Satur- day night, September 30, when ..Goderich Booster Club stages its "Stag Night" at the Arena auditorium.
