Did anyone get the phone numbers of any of
these gorgeous 'GDCI cuties' who paraded
through collegiate corridors throughout Friday's
initiation of grade niners? The whimsical 'fashion
designers' for these male teenagers required
them to wear either mini -skirt or dress with
spitable jewellery to enhance their appearance.

It was 'Initiation Day' for
grade nine students at Goderlch
District Cbllegiatelnstitute last
Friday.
Initiation' has now'becoine an
established custom for the GDCI
student body. It s value in school
life is "often questioned by a
large percentage of the high
school teaching staff. Some of
them view these antics with
as mach apprediation as -they

Senior students will reply,
in answer to teacher criticism
of this un -academic happening,
that initiation develops school
spirit by injecting some fun and
frolic into othewise dull class.
room life. This theory may be
hard for grade niners to accept
when they realizethey are the
subject and object of the fun.

The 'handsomely apparelled'

sporting the following costume ,
if he were playing it safe by
conforming to the peculiar fas-
hion trends for last Friday.
A mini -skirt would enclose his
legs to a point half -way to
the knees and lialloons,floating
upwards at each ear, would
adorn his 'head. Considerable
flair was present in the grade
nine boy's footwear. A knee
sock and rubber boot was worn
on one side; the other leg and
foot was stuck in a rolled dawn
nylon stocking and running shoe.

iation. Enhancing their gowned,
19th century charm, were six-
inch ear rings dangling to their
shoulders; their feet ware en.
cased in plastic bags.
