Abell in his -57th, year. ,HE was the son of Alexina Craigie and the late William P. Abell. Educated in Goderich he attend. .ed public and high school. My. Abell enlisted in the RCAF and graduated as a navi- gator from Crumlin. Wounded on his llth mission over enemy territory, he spent four months in hospital. in England. before being invalided home. For his meritorious service he was awarded theDistinguish. ed Flying Cross,. and was one of six men for 'whom the town gave a civic welcome on their return in 1945. ' Latterly Mr. Abell made his. home. in Toronto where he was on the staff of Thorne, Gunn, Helliwell and Christensen, Chartered Accountants. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. W. P. Abell; a sister, Irene, Mrs. G. C. White; and a brother James Abell of Tor. onto. Funeral services were con. ducted by Rev. G. L. Royal of Knox Presbyterian Church, Goderich. Pallbearers were: M. S. Sut. herland, 'Thomas Harron, Carl. tori Worsell, C. 1, .Naftel, Gor. don McManus, Clayton Edward. • Interment was in Maitland Cemetery,'Goderich, Rev: W,d. Their veiled ring headdresses were shirred avocado and they carried baskets of yellow shasta daisies.
