Goderich. Dodgers are adding to their string °of victories with
every game played: Their most recent Victims were the Exeter
Greys whom they trounued&.two games in a row. . •
Tuesday,' July ° 25, the -score was 8-5 in. favor of the local gals
and on Friday night, the Dodgers again asserted their superiority
over the Exeter lasses by whopping them 11.4.
Jean Cruickshank topped her team-mates for batting Manors in
the first game by collecting four halts, Norma Walter and Sue
°MacLeod led the Dodgers batting assault in the, second match.
D. Snell and B.. Dinney each collected two hits•for Exeter Greys.
In soccer action, the Goderich senior 'soccer team are edging
upwards, in their league on the basis of recent victories. A week
ago .Saturday, they defeated the Greek Olympians ata home game
in Agricultural park.
Last Saturday the United's were idle in the London and district
soccer schedule.. They have not allowed themselves to get out
of shape however. d
Thursday July 27, they played an exhibition• game with a team
from the Canadian Forces Base, Clinton and wound up on top of
that match by a :score of 5-2. More exhibition games with the
CFB team are planned for this summer.
One game was played in Goderich Minor League soccer Monday
night, The Lion Hearts edged the Legion Cherubs 3-1. Conlon,
Reflinghaus and Fisher each booted a goal for,the Hearts; Crawford
scored the only tally for the Cherubs.
Taking, a look . at Goderich Industrial League softball action for
a moment, all four teams were in action in last Monday night's
double-header. Results were: Firemen 6, Kinsmen 4, Domcos•
11, B. R. Robinson Floors 3. It's worth noting here that.seven home
runs were hit during the 14 innings of play. _
r In Central Huron softball, the regularly scheduled games have
almost all been played and play -oft series are just around the
corner. Dungannon remains out in front of the seven team grouping
and from there down the other clubs are•closely bunched.'
Incidentally, the Central Huron All-stars won their last game
with the Goderich :Industrial League All-stars which evens this
town -versus country series at one game apiece. Central Huron
blanked the Goderich club 3-0 in their last contest at the. Agricul.
tural Park.
