leadership of Mrs. Lloyd Bond and Mrs.. WilliamCoX,, contributed
" greatly to the success of the interdenominational religious service
held at Holmesville school Sunday afternoon when,`several hundfed
persons, young and old, attended. ACcentre are clergymen from
the area who officiated, including Rev. E. J. B. Harrison, Ahglican
church, Bayfield; Rev, Donald Beck, Bayfield Baptist; Rev. G. G..
Heersink, Christian Reformed Church, Clinton; ,Dr. A. J. Mowatt,
Wesley -Willis United church, Clinton; Rev. J. E. Icplly, St.
Joseph's Roman Catholic church, Clinton. 'Mr. Heersinkpresented
the sermon, stressing the spiritual attributes whichi could make

Bright sun and .a comfortable breeze favored the outdoor religious
. service at Holmesville school Sunday afternoon. This view from
back of the, congregation shows some of the rural relics flanking
the platform to left and right, consisting of old cedar fence
moils, wagon wheels and bits of harness reminiscent of the.
olden days. The Centennial choir presented the centennial, hymn

SECOND SECTION
An interesting contribution to the interior exhibits at Holmesville
school was the Dutdh room where heirlooms, antiques and beau-
tiful craft work from Holland were displayed, on loan from many
"families from the Netherlands who have made their homes in
Goderich township. In traditional oldtime garb are Mrs. Gys
Vanderhaar and Mrs. Frank de Jong, R. R. 2,,Bayfield, in front
of one of several fine pieces of tapestry from the, "ad country".

Photos of pioneer ancestors were popular exhibits in the school.
rooms at Holmesville over the weekend when literally thousands
of persons attended a three-day program of Centennial celebrations
and inspected the outstanding collection of antiques and pioneer
crafts. (Stall Photo)
Among the notables- caught by the cameraman in the long barbcue 6
lineup was Hon. C. S. MacNaughton, M.P.P. for Huron and prow
in dal treasurer, with Mrs. MacNaughton. Robert E. McKinley,
M.P. for Huron, and Mrs. McKinley were also in attendance.
Mrs. H. McCabe of 'II. R. I Goderich, in oldtime attire, takes
a rest in' a 149 -year-old chair, a parting gift from the Prince
of Wales, then Prince Regent and later' King Geroge IV to Sir
Pergrine' Maitland, Lieut -Governor to Upper .5ariada in 1818.

This busy serving teble, operated cinder the supervision of Mrs. 4,:
Jean Ginn, barbecue chairman for Goderich township Centennial
committee, was the goal of nearly 2,000 hungry visitors who
braved torrential rains Saturday afternoon ' to- join in the fun
at the new Clinton community arena to which the event had
been shifted. Here is a general view as some of the chicken-

over the weekend were those seen here at the barbecue lineup,
worn by Ex -reeve John beeves, in shirtsleeves, with bowler-
hatted and frock -coated Bob Turner of Bayfield at right
