To See. Salt Operations
A busload of 'Co.Op' directors
and staff from Southern Ontario
counties toured the Sifto Salt
industries on Monday. The mem-
bers of the 'Co.Op' group arrived
at the ° evaporation plant, at
seven o'clock in the morning.
While part' of the -.group toured
the' 'salt block!,- others were
driven to the harbntrr-here they •
inspected the Sifto Salt mining •
operation, ' •

,branch, organized the trip and
drove the chartered bus for the
•occassion.. Four branches of the
United Co-operatives of Ontario
sent their members on the tour.

The second annual Huron
County Agricultural Conference
featured a drama festival staged
on Friday evening, March 10th
at the Central Huron Secondary
School,, Clinton, The two plays
xferepresented by the Clinton
Jjunror Farmers and Junior In.
stitute and the Seaforth Junior
-Farmers and Junior Institute.
Maurice Love a acted as master of
ceremonies for the program and
two Goderich ladies, Mrs. Bruce
Sully and Mrs,, Floyd Lodgewere
adjudicators for the event.
Additional entertainment was
provided by the Junior Farmer
girls trio. These three: Christine
Pryce, Sharon Strong and Eliz-
abeth Smale were successful
in winning the top award i;,n their
c las.s.,.at,...pxb�iricial-eompet-it-ions,
field in Toronto, earlier this -
year. They sang at intermission
and during the period prior to
the adjudication of the plays and
-presentation of awards. •
, The Seaforth theatrical group
presented the first"play of the
evening with .their performance
• of a one -act farce, ',Good night

for her portrayal of 'Katy', a
character in the play. 'Cleaned
and Pressed'. ;Fred Uhler, as
'Mr. McWinkle' received the
'best actor award' for his role
in th e Seaforth Play ,'Goodnight
Please'.
