Foresters, of Farquhar on the eyeuing
of Wednesday last week was a splendid

readings which brought laughter and
great applause. Miss Park of Hibbert,
sustained het former reputation and
gave some very pleasing songs. The
Pizados, of Exeter, supplied a great
variety of music. Altogether a very
enjoyable eyening• Was spent; proceeds

On Monday evening. last A number
of church members waited on D. Breth
our, Esq, at his residence near Wood-
ham, and presented him with an ad-
dress vrd valuable copy of "Bagster's
Comprehensive Bible" as a slight tok-
en of their gratitude and esteem for
his valued services as teacher of the
Bible Class in St. Paul's church Sunday
School. The address was read by Miss
Sophie C. Steele, and the book present-
ed by Miss Eliza RobluSOnt Mr, Breth-
our, who was quite taken by surprise,
and visibly affected, acknowledged in
a nen t speech the kindness of his young
friends. Rev. Mr. Steele then gave an
impromptu address to the S. S. teachers
and members of the Bible Class, which
was followed by prayer. Thereafter a
pleasant evening was spent by young
and old, the latter engaging in social
conversation and the young people in
innecent games. Refreshmelits were
then bountifully provided, and the
party broke np shortly after midnight.

and taken away the beloved wife of
