Horner Siffos .New Coach
By R.J. M4WGE .,
The Goderich Siftos have a new
coach.
Wayne Horner, athletic direct-
or, of the Goderich District
Collegiate has taken over the
coaching reins from Doug Cruick-
shank. Horner will also assume
the post of general -manager of
the club.
A coach who has proven his
ability to gets the most . out of
the material he has to work with,
Horner has an•,, impressive re.
cord. In football he has direct,
ed the GDCI Vikings to three
consecutive championships. Last
year he tried his hand at coach;
ing the then junior "B" Siftos
with equally successful results.
Taking over the .Siftos at the
midway point of last season,
Horner inherited a club that
seemed to be going nowhere with
a record of nine wins and eleven
losses, Under him the team won
17 of 20 to finish a strong second.
'They eliminated St. Mary's
Lincolns in the semi-finals before
bowing to the Kitchener Green.
shirts in the finals.
This season he takes over a
club With _three veins and. a - tie
against six losses in the first
10 games of the schedule. Wheth.
er he can 'duplicate last year's
feat remains to be seen, but
the club executive is confident
that Horner will get as much
hockey from the boys as they are
Capable of playing. More can.
not be asked.
The Siftos played their first
game under their new coach Tues.

will be. Dec.. 16, when the Guelph
Junior i3;egals pay their second
visit to Goderich. The Siftos
will be out to avenge a 4.2
loss to the Reg:ls in their first
meeting here last month.
Last week the Siftos dropp-
ed two. games to the powerful
New Hamburg Hahns, last year's
all bntario Junior "C" finalists.
In Goderich last Tuesday the
Siftos, minus six regulars be.

schools, were an easy mark for
the Hard shooting Hahns.

Regret In Golly Wobbles
Some of the physical factors
causing hangover headache are
the ,swelltng of blood vessels
caused by ethyl alcohol and
sensitivity to some of the chem.
ical by-products of alcohol.
Psychologically, the hangover
headache may be complicated by
change of routine, lack of sleep,
excitement and futile regrets.

GODE„RICH
A Modern Visit
From Sant& Claus
'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the House
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The garage door was opened with a great deal of care,
In hopes that by morning a New Car would be there..
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of Cainaro's raced around in their heads.
And Mama in her pin curls and I with my News,
Had just settled down for a Long winter's snooze.
When out on the lawn there arose such a chatter,
I sprang from .my`'bed to see what was the .matter ! ! !
The moon on the breast of the new fallen snow,
Gave the lustre of mid -dry to objects below.
Then what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But Old Sana himself ... but WITHOUT his reindeer.
.He had come by Impala, 'twas all sparkling white,
So lovely to look at on that cold winter night.
"What a car!" saidhe loudly,. "With styling so new,
With enough room for me and all my elves, too !
"It rides like a cloud," he exclaimed with a smile,
"I know, 'cause I've • driven it for many a miler
".
He then chuckled and gave me a wink,
"It's one of GM's greatest, I think."
"It has power glide, hush the pedal and go,
"It's completely mechanical -- with no electrical woe.
"There are other new features, tdo ' many • to mention,
"I could go on talking from now to my pension!
"But why stand here talking?'_' hesaid with a grin,
"Come on — get inside — take her out for a spin!"
During Santa's long discourse, I'd begun to grow wise,
For it was not Old Santa,' but a salesman disguised.
Why the white beard and the bright crimson livery,
"T'was Baird's holiday way to make Christmas delivery!
And I heard him exclaim as he 'dashed out of sight,
"Order your Chevvy now for a great Christmas night!"
