incorrectly stated that Miss Eva
Sommerville was in hospital in
London.
Miss Sommerville was not in
hospital. She did move her, place

Besides, Miss Dilling has hun-

"objets d' harp". Almost every.
thing in her apartment carries a
harp motif: • p e tit point chair
seats, va s e s, crystal, china,
trays, dinner bells, bookends,

Gas* _ine
Bast Buy
13y H.L._ BAIRD
While giving out free informa-
tion with a smile one million*
and one times a year, the thou-
sands of gasoline station opera-
tors in the country are also sell-
ing one of the best buys around
'in our inflated economy.
Besides being much cheaper
than in most parts of the world,
gasoline today costs signifigant-
•ly less than ten years ago,
Tests show the average car of
ten years ago drove 17 miles on
a ., gallon of gas of that year
against 19.8 currently •- a gain
of 16.5 -percent. Fuel costs then
averaged 1.25 cents a gallon and
1.69 cents with taxes against 1,01
cents and 1.53 cents with taxes'
now.
The average skilled worker in
this ' ountry can buy almost 10
gallons of gasoline for one hour's
wages, In- Britain, only 2.85 gal-
lons; in Germany, 2.05 gallons;
in- Italy, 1.05 gallons and only
.98 gallons in,France.
Some' wise advice for Winter
driving is -to keep your gas tank
filled. When you are low on gas,
_-- w -Vapor forms ori -the wairs
of your tank. It can cause fuel
line freezing and other'troubles
if it gets into ,your carburetor.
Did you hear about the " oil
company executive who boasted to
the chorus girl his company had
eleven hundred gas stations?
"It's just marvelous how lucky
you oil people are," she said.
"Every time you drill in one of
these places you strike gasol-
ine." See you 'next Thursday,
Advt.
