The Alt - house Award went to William James Lodge, a science teacher at Westminster Secondary"' Schoolin London. Miss Voltre received her ele- mentary and secondary educa- tion in the Kitchener -Waterloo systems. She was an Ontario Scholar and received the Span- ish prize and entrance Scholar- o ship to Victoria University. At the University of Toronto she specialized in modern languages ,and Literature and earned her Type A teaching certifiete at the Ontario College of Education in Toronto in 1966. The Bryan Memorial Award— a, cash prize of $100—is named in memory of a former president of the OSSTF, Dr. Hugh W. Bryan. „ The Althouse Award, also worth $100, commemorates Dr. J. G. -Althouse, a former director 'of education for the Province of Ontario. Recom- mendations for the awards are made b► the Council of the Col- lege of Education.' PORTER'S HILL Porter's Hill.—The November meeting -of theJ!.C.W: was held at the home of Mrs. Bill Town- shend. The president, • Mrs. Sturdy opened the meeting and turned the devotional period over to Mrs. Allen Betties. Scripture was read by Mrs. Bet- ties. Mrs... Elgin Cox had charge of the study book the topic being "Gods Judgment on Nations." The roll was answered with a Remembrance Day verse. The secretary's report and corres- pondence was read by Mrs. $i11 Townshend and the treasurer's report given by Mrs.. T. Sower - by. It was decided to give a donation of .$10, to the Bible Society and $35 .to the M. & M. The December meeting will be held a week early on Dec, 9. Mrs. Blake invited ' the group to the parsonage in Bayfield for this meeting when the election of officers wild be conducted. , The Sundayschool is 'holding their White Gift Service, Sun- day, "Dec. ,4, and their annual Christmas party Dec. 10.
