WEDDING BELLS AGAIN -A very
pleasant event occurred on Wednesday
evening (11th inst.) at the residence of
Mrs.Bedford, Crediton south, it being
the marriage of her youngest daugh-
ter, Miss Louisa, to Mr. Win. Stevens,
of Crediton south. The wedding was a
very quiet one owing to the illness of
the bride's mother. We wish the
young couple many prosperous and
happy years. --The Rev. Stephen Bond
of London is expected to address the
congregation of the Methodist church
in this village, on next Thursday,(25th
inst.) evening„ in behalf of the endow-
ment of the Victoria University, Tor-
onto. A full house is asked for. -The
funeral sermon of the late James Ma-
whinney was preached in the Metho.

chair. The. District Council was open-
ed in the Royal degree. The commit-
tee on credientials reported the 'names,
of all members present who were en-
ti,led to take part in discussions, vot-
ing, etc. The minutes of the meeting:
held in Seaforth last August were
read and approved. A number or
eommunications were read and refer-
red to the various committees, after.
Which the meeting adjourned for din-
ner, a sumptuous repast having- been
provided by a number of the .ladies of•
the local council in the small room or
the hall. At 1 o'clock the meeting
was again called to order. The re-
ports of the various committees' were

-A terrible snow storm visited these
parts on Thursday and Friday last
which did not abate until the roads
were covered with about three foot of
snow and made them almost impassi-

on any question they choose. -Mr.
Peter Kraft is busily engaged in haul
ing logs to his yard. Guess there is
another bee on boys. -Mr. Lawrence
Deitrich is'at present making prepara
tions for the erection of a new brick
dwelling', which he will commenee as
soon as weather will permit and which
will add much to the appearance of his
farm.

travelling expense's from the District
Council, Inc funds of which for this
purpose and general expenses are to
be raised by a, per capital tax on the

and paid from the general funds of the
