Holidays are over! Everyone's
back to work and keen to get
things rolling again.
Your 'committee has been in
business just six months. Besides
re"urar weekly meetings, there
ha"'e been many meetings plan-
ned by the Ontario Department
of •T turism and Information
Centennial Planning Branch,
meetings with the merchants
and industrial groups, service
clubs and other groups.
Our dedicated chairman Ray
Robinson asked if we realized
how mny hours (not counting
the many spent on the phone)
we had used up . in these six
months and wewere astounded!
We have averaged six meetings
as month with an average of well
over two hours per meeting.
There has been a real effort
put forth to make people ,real-
ize their one and only Cen-
tennial year is upon them and
that we should do something
special in this special year, make
it one to be remembered, one
to be enjoyed and shared.
There are a great many pro-
jects planned "andbeing plan -
rk
ned, many iting thin
come, including a whole+vE{ek
fo r Old Home Week in. which
to welcome back old friends.and
relatives (don't forget to write
them!)
We have had some disap-'
pointments, a few good laughs,
a few flare ups which didn't get,
to flame, and a great many
gratifying projects like the one
Dominion Roads "DRMCO" has
just released. We need your help
and moral support to tie up all
the loose ends. We can do great
things if we work together, help
each other and enjoy the re
sults.
I'm willing, are you?
Martha.
