Centennial Plan Discussed
The September meeting -of the
Maple heal' Chapter, I.O.D.E.
was held at the home ,of Mrs.
Ronald Menzies.
Discussions were held regard-
ing the new date of the Centen-
nial fashion show and of the
Centennial Ball to be sponsored
by the Chapter. Tentative dates
for these are -May 17, 1967 and
Sept. 22, 1967 respectively.

Butter, Cheese Down
The production of butter and
cheddar cheese in Huron
County in the first seven
months of 1966 decreased in
comparison to the same
period in 1965' reports the
Ontario Department of Agri-
culture and Food.
In July this year 100,289
pounds of butter were pro-
duced in the county compar-
ed to 132 942_ in July,, .1965._

ALEXANDER Y. JOHNSTONE
A. Y. Johnstone of Parksville,
B.C. ,died in Namiamo Hospital,
Sept. 9. Mr. Johnstone was a
brother of Mrs. George W.
Paterson, 82 Montreal St., Gode-
rich.
Born at Kincardine, Mr.
Johnstone lived in Colborne
Township for some time'” He
married the former Ethel Pat-
terson of Kincardine and moved
to Vancouyer where he resided
ever since. A ,
He is stirtvived by his wife,
one son, Keith of Nanianio, and
three daughters, Mrs. Aldin
.(Marion) Appleton, Mrs. Victor
(Isobel) Young and Mrs. Richard
(Ruth) Harrison, all of Van-
courver.

Bremner
To Speak
Hugh Bremner, news di-
rector , of CFPL radio, is
scheduled of speak to Gode-
rich Lions Club tonight.
Mr. Bremner is the first in
a series of speakers . to be
heard by the Lions during the
coming season.
Mr. Bremner has been a
radio broadcaster since he
graduated from.. high school.
in, Brantford. He joined CFPL
in 1954.
He has visited 40 coun-
tries in five continents, includ-
ing Russia, He broadcast the
Coronation of Queen Elizabeth
and Khrushchev's tour of the
United States.
He lectures on television
and news writing at the Uni-
versity of Western Ontario.
Ile is an RAF veteran.

Observance
The 131st anniversary services
of Knox Presbyterian Church
will be observed this Sunday,
at 11 a,m. and 7 p.m.
The services will be conduct-
ed by the minister, Rev; G. L.
Royal",' and the guest minister
Rev. Frederick A. Miller of St.
Andrew's Presbyterian Church,
Owen Sound.
Choral- presentations Lwi11. be
under the supervision of Wil-
liam M. Cameron.
• Mr. Miller is a native of Ulster
and was born in Belfast. During
World War II he was a member
of the RAF as,a pilot and served
in Palestine, North Africa and
Italy. He came to Canada in
1943 to enter Carleton Univer-
sity in Ottawa where in 1951
he' was awarded his Bachelor
of Arts degree. In that same
year he entered Presbyterian
College, Montreal, and was
graduated with his Bachelor of
Divinity degree in 1954.
His first appointment was to
the Peace River district, and
after a year he received a .call
to Beauharnois, Quebec, where
he ministered until 1960 when
he moved to Owen Sound. Mr.
1 Miller will preach at both ser-
vices, ,
