CENTRALIA CLOSING SAID BLESSING
MODA Vi'ews Area
Closing of the Centralia
Canadian Forces Base 'may
eventually prove a blessing
in disguise, W. G. Urquhart,
Mid -Western Ontario Develop-
ment Association mgr, told
a meeting of association direc-
tors inn Stratford Tuesday.
Since the federal govern-
ment announced the closing,
considerable local initiative
--has' developed hr a search- for
something to occupy the area,
Mr. Urquhart said.
Representatives from Huron,
Middlesex, Lambton and Perth
counties met at Hensall to re-
view the economic situation
which might develop when
the base is finally Closed.
Mr. Urquhart said the area
could easily develop into an
industrial complex . if condi-
tions are suitable, to develop-
ers-
' At the previous meeting of
directors in June, the associa-
tion turned down a Huron
'County request for association
support "to- alleviate the situ-

Directors thought it was
purely a zone problem. Huron
A Tribute . To .Our
Students!
4
Too often, .young people drop out of school be-
cause they are attracted by the idea of having spending
money of their own and of attaining a high degree.of
independence.
Tribute is to be paid to those students who did
not succumb to the. temptation of leaving school. The
pay cheques these students will lose now will be made
up time and time again in the pay cheques they will
- receive in the future.
A Tribute To Cour
School Teachers!
Today, as at no time before in history, the school
teacher is • recognized as the builder of tomorrow's
Canada 1
Let's remember that teachers are human beings,
not machines. Let's give them the support and confi-
dence they so.hichly deserve. Let's attend the Horne and.
School, meetings and contribute something more than
our children. This community is fortunate in having
such fine schools and outstanding educators. We aV-
plaud their work and their good Canadian achieve-
ments.

the last meeting also decided
not to support any request for
