Interest Starts To Grow
In Canadian Color Television
Canadian television viewers
who have color receivers can
expect a fairly liberal amount
of coldr telecasting this season,
The CBC plans to network
about 30 hours a week. CTV,
which plans 62 hours of regular
weekly programming, says 42
hours of this will be devoted to
color. •
-Stations affiliated with these
networks will be able to supple-
ment their color programming
with 'films and color slides.
Several independent stations
estimated their prime time tele-
casting would be 75 'to 80 per
cent color. For those with suf-
ficient antenna r"ange United
States networks offer' about 98
hours a week of prime time
color programs.
week here.
'Mr. and Mrs. Ted Mills. and
Floyd Rosebush have moved in-
to their new home in the village
which they purchased from Mrs.
Mary Johnston of Goderich.

A • special antenna Ls not re-
quired fpr the color television.
If an antenna Ls producing good
black -and -white television, it
will produce good color. How-
ever, an old antenna cannot be
relied- upon to do this.
A general price range of color
television at present is from
about $700 rap to $2,000 -de-
pending upon the type of set
purchased.
No great decrease in the price
Total sales, of color television
sets in Canada for this year have
been estimated at 50,060 and
sales next year are expected to
reach 100,000. The screen sizes
'range from 12 to 25 inches.
Color sets will, of course, pro-
vide black and white reception
of the same quality that would
be provided by - a black -and -
white set.
