was iborn in Wilmot Township
and lived near New Hamburg
for 25 years.
He moved to 1Vi'onlvton in 1909
where he operated a hardware,
coal and garage business,. He
moved to Goderich in -1962 and
retired.
He was a member of the Ses-
sion of Monckton United Ohurch
and choir, and : was Bolder of
a 50 -year pin from Golden Rule
IOOF Lodge 420. Ile was a
member of North Street United
Church in Goderich.
His wife, the former Clarissa
Mary Fowler, whom he married
November 20, 1907, in New
Hamburg, died January 29. 1965.
He is survived by four daugh-
ters, Mrs. John (Ruth) Wands
and Mrs. John W. (Verne) Frith,
both of Goderhci; MTs. Wilfred
(Helen) Chapman, London; Mrs.
Carl (Mary) ALsing, Somers,
Cann.; son, Harold, Goderieh; E.
George, Stratford; a sister,
Louise Bettger, New Hamburg.

Clifton Burke McManus, 78r
of 50 Lighthouse street, died
Monday in Alexandra Marine
and General Hospital after a
long illness.
Rev. G. L. Royal is to officiate
at a funeral at the Lddge fun-
eral home today at 2 p.m.
Mr. McManus was born
Colborne Township, son of the
late James McMantUs and Ellen
Cowan.
He was a member of Knox
Presbyterian' Church and Gode-
rich Bowling club.
Mr. MoManus is survived by
his wife, the former Mary E.
Thompson; a daughter, Mrs. Ted
(Donalda) Plante, Toronto; two
sons, Gordon, Goderich, Rob-
ert, London; Ave sisters, Mrs.
Herbert (Lillian) Thornloe, Mrs.
William (May) Bisset, Mrs. Gor-
don (Edith) McPhee, Mrs. Wal-
ter (Margaret) McGill, MTs. Wil-
liam (Olive) Sturdy, all of Gode-
rich; two b others, Wilmer,
Windsor; Bert, Colborne Town-
ship.
Burial is to be in Maitland
cemetery.
