There died in the county on Tuesday
last week, John McCann, an old man
of 72 years, Who for eome time has been
an inmate of the jail because there waS
no other place to put him in. Of course
there was the usual formal inquest as
t the cause of death and the equally
formal deliverence, but had the Oppen-

DEAR, EDITOR,.
A grand perty was held at the real-
dence of Mr. James Cronyn on the ee
ening of the 19t11, one of those kind
that seldom come across o'er pathway,
because °felts superior qualities to suck
thiugs in general As early as six
o'clock the guests began to arrive and.
by eight they began to think the last
one had come, but still they came and
ten 'clock arrived before. the last
guest entered, Iudee0 it is not herd
to undmstaud that there was a gool
time when it is known that people
came from Parkhill; Limerick, and all
the way from Hillsgreen to the
amount of about 150. Notwithstanding
that some good for -nothing evil minded
person, riot one hundred miles from
Lime/els, did their best to spoil the fun
by getting up another party at that •
place, but from appearances and the
good time that was enjoyed by all their
_
attempt proved an utter failure, -as it
should. Music was furnished by
Meesrs. Bossenberry, of Zurich, Mc-
Lanklin, of Parkhill, and last, hut not,
not least, Joe Morgan, of Grand Bend,
who is far famed for his .esood &Meg
horses. The first thing that greeted
the eyes of the guests was a bountifuo
supply of good eider, next a 14 quart
pail of candy and nuts. At 12 o'clock
the dancing was suspended for half an
hour for refreshments. Which to speal
on the safe side was the grandest ever
S0081 in this locality, and much praise
is due/the cooks, whoever they were, -
of course I was afraid to 0811, -but I
guess they were Mary and Belle. But
to resume, after partaking of enough
good things to satisfy the inner man,
the dancing was again commenced
with, Joe Morgan as chairman, funs
ishing the music which was kept rap
until the wee sma' hours of the morn-
ing, when everybody went to their re-
spective homes wishieg Mr. and Mrs.
Cron yn, Sr., and Mr, a;c1 Mrs. Cronyn
(soon to be), many happy years of life
to come, to be able to enjoy many more
Such occasions, and hoping Jim 11 311
be united with an everlasting knot to
some fair one from the North Pole be
fore another year, I will bid you all a
good byte -People are very busy haul-
ing wood and logs in this section at
present.
