PROTEINS AND THE SKIN Mo..t women have a tendency to feel costmetic problems are unique in our generation. As iwe remember it our mothers and grandtrothers seemingly had smaller orrews—a creamier !complexion, better skin. Perhaps we blame this increase of skin blemishes on modern living, an overlbundance of makeup,. o.r maybe, even some blame their xi husbands for making them ner- votis anal creating skin disorders through this nervous condition. In ea.h case you are partially `right. We put millions of • dollars worth 'of cosmetics (maiiy high in al'calinity) on our skin each 'year. We live fast and hard; many women actually do the work of three rather than one. 11:00 a.m.—"Hindu Belie( and Apostolic Preaching." 7:30'p.m.—"The Worltt's Dilemma and the Hour of Maximum Danger." Week Nights—TUESDAY. to FRIDAY -8:00 P.M. Small wonder we need make- up to look presentable. But, why put harsh chemicals on tfie skin when we know each. chemical will be partially absorbed into the skin? Iodine when placed on your skin can be found fifteen minutes later in a urin- alysis. It has,, in this short period . r time, nc•en ansorbed by the skin, travelled thr9ugh: outthe entire body, and partial - been . eliminated through waste products. Is this absorp- tion necessary'? Bio -Chemists tell us, "No". A pure organic -p• otein buffering layer, or makeup base, can now be made that linrikts to virtually zero tht. amount of makeup which will be absorbed by the skin, We now have here at ..The Beauty 'Lounge a pure protein product and formula which enable you to acid pure organic foods at home and make seven individual products and keep them in your refrigerator for non -spoilage. The traces of pro- tein from these formulae absorb- ed into the skin and beneficial to the shin itself; for skin is al- most .pure protein and much of the dryness and loss of elasticity` come from lost protein. We are proud to furnish you with information. and formulae. This is t:•uly Science and Beauty at its, best., in 'creating health and loveliness. We feel Skin Beau'y and flealthy Skin are synonomous.
