Later still you could not pre- vent people buying ti!rets and that was how the Brits h Mu§r eum was built and no one -ob-. ejeted at all. No *processions, no placards, no bombs—well there was Guy Fawkes, yes. Soon after this a few beat - nicks took up the idea privately and before you could say "Les- ter Pearson" they were sunning themselves in Virginia on their own tobacco plantations, duty free. But then that ugly word "Fraud" was bandied around and the M.P.'s were scandalized, so much so . that both public and private tickets were with- drawn from sale and have re- mained, British museum pieces to this day, at least in England. In other parts of the English- speaking world the sale of tick- ets continues, but not' openly. Canada recently put a funny twist to the business and netted $35,000 from two ticket sellers; a rather 'low form of money making. But be of good cheer! John Bull, assisted by Mother Thread- needle, has pulled the venetians closed once more. Today you can walk into any Canadian Bank, no disguise is needed, and ask to purchase a British Prem- ium Bond. Each ticket costs $3.00. Pesticide Dangers Revealed To Farmers OTTAWA.—Farmers who in- tend to use aldrin or dieldrin on their crops this year should check container labels carefully. Changes have been made in the requirements governing the sale of these pesticides to en- sure that residues do not turn up in livestock produets such as meat and milk. Soil 'treatments are not to be us'ed where root crops are in rotation. Use of aldrin and dieldrin in fertilizers for farm use is no longer permitted. The Feeds Act prohibits the sale of feed containing these insecticides. The agt•icultural chemical in- dustry and provincial, extension agencies were advised of the new requirements, under the Pest Control Products Act, af- fecting aldrin and dieldrin in August, 7965 to provide ample time for label changes for 1966.
