Life Pins For UCW Members The Christmes meeting of the U.C.W. of North Street United Church was held in the Chris- tian Education Hall, Wednesday, December 8th, 1965. Devotions were conducted by Miss C. McGowan, Mrs. R. Hugh- es and Mrs. Howarth. A Christ- mas story was told by Mrs. Hughes. The president, Miss E. Hume, was in charte of the business portion of the meeting. The minutes of the last meeting were read by Mrs. g. Kalbfleisch,and the treasurer's report by Mrs. L. Westbrook. • Another highlight of the meet- ing was the presentation of life membership pins in the U.C.W. to Mrs. F. Walkom, and Mrs. R. Hughes, who are past presidents. Wil- son, the leader presided. • The devotional ex frcises were in charge of Mrs. Neil McKinnon who gave the call to worship. Christmas hymns were sung throughout the meeting, follow- ed by prayer by Mrs. IVIcKinnou. The offering was taken and ded- icated. The Christmas story as the Scripture lesson was read by Mrs. McKinnon. The money from the birthday box, shut-ins and travelling apron amounted to $19.25 for the year. Mrs. E. Patterson, stewardship convener, read an article entitl- ed "Who owns • this world any- way." Thoughts about prayer were given by Mrs. S. Argyle stress- ing tbat prayer is living in co- operation with the ways of God. This was followed by a "Prayer for Christmas." The nominations for the com- ing year then took, place.
