dining xoom, Seaforth Manor:
purchased by Mrs. Bernard Hen-
derson from Seaforth, Commun-
ity Hospital,• .is now in operation,
with accommodation on the main
floor for 36 patients. A lounge
in Celonial decor has been pro- °
vided for the comfort of the resi-
dents.
The building has been inspect-
ed and hissed by the municipal-
ity as adhering to the strict fire
prevention code prevailing in
Huron County. Seven doo?s in-
sure a hasty exit in case of em-
ergency.
Bern Henderson will act in
the capacity of administrator,
with Mr. and Mrs. Henderson's
daughter, Mary Jean Kidd, Reg.

Plans Christmai cifts
Mrs. John Pinder, noble grand,
was in charge of the regular
Meeting of the Rebekah Lodge
when they met in MacKay Hall,
on Nqvember 16 and there was
a good attendance.
The lodge plans to send out
the usual Christmas baskets :sto
shut-ins and will also fill the
three stockings for the Ontario
Hospital patients. A donation
of money will be sent to the
Barrie Hoine toward their Christ-
rrias party, -and also to the Mus-
cular Dystrophy Association.
During the social hour several
games of cards were played, with
Mrs. Charles Moore having the
high score, Mrs. Ruth Hayden
the low, Mrs. Harvey Fuller hav-
ing the most lone hands. Mrs.
Harold Rivers was the winner
of the lucky prize.
At the previous meeting, early
in November, Miss Linda Somer-
ville, who was Huron's repre-
sentative to the United Nations
Pilgrimage for Youth, held in
New York, gave a very fine ad-
dress relating to her experiences
and also showed mafir colored
slides of her trip. It was very
much enjoyed by all who we're
fortunate enough to hear her.

Grand Lodge of Odclfellows of
Ontario, Lea Dawson from Ot-
tawa.
The Grand Master was making
his official visit to District No. 8
of the Oddfellow's.
Guests at the banquet includ-
ed the Past Grand Master, Mr:
Robert Williamson and his wife;
regional director Jack, Calvert
and his wife; district deputy
Grand Master Amos Osbaldeston
and his wife; DDGM District 10
Gordon ' Clark and wife, and
DGw district 8. Roy Hunter
and wife. ,
The official party also includ-
ed the installing team and noble
grands. Guests were present
from all lodges in the district.
The highlight of the evening
was the presentation of a
PDDGM jewel to Benson Sutter

After 29 Years
The Police Village of Auburn
held its nomination meeting two
weeks ago with nine rate-.
payers present. Clerk Clifton
MacDonald received nominations
up to 8.30 p.m. Those nomin-
ated were,Bert Craig, RalphMunro, Wiliam J. Craig, Thomas
Haggitt, Gordon Miller and Rob
ert Arthur. William J. Craig
and Thomas Haggitt were the
only ones to qualify. Bert Craig
and Ralph Munro announced
their resignations after serving
the village for 20 years.
Clerk MacDonald stated that
another meeting will have to
be called to fill the vacant seat.
During the past year the fire
hall, has-been shingled and -dur-
ing the summer months the
streets were chlorided. Other
items of business were discussed
and William 'Straughan moved
a vote of thanks to Mr. Munro
and Mr. Bert Craig for their
services to the village during
the past 20 years.
