MRS. MARGARET LEDDY
JOHN ERNEST McCORMICK
A former accountant with a
brokerage firm, John Ernest Mc-
Cormick, died at his home at
167 Cambridge street, Goderich,
on Saturday, aged 78. •
Born in Beaverbrook, Albert
City, N.B., the son of John Allen
McCormick and Emma Ruth Ed-
gett, he travelled extensively be-
fore retiring to Gdderich in 1956..
He lived in Winnipeg after
leaving Beaverbrook •in 1906 -and
then moved in succession to New
York, Mexico, Detroit, Hamilton
and Toronto, before coming to
Goderich.
A member of he Baptist
Church, he is survived by one
brother, Avery W. McCormick,
Winnipeg, and one sister, Mrs.
Sarah Moriarity, Moncton, N.B.
He was p'ed~eeeased-by sisters,
Mrs. Mary Blossom MacCuspey of
Goderich, and Mrs. Blanche Har-
rop of Blenheim.
Funeral services were held
at the Stiles funeral home on
Monday with the Rev. Henry de

15 in Goderich hospital of Mrs.
Margaret Leddy. Born in 1886
in Walford Station, she moved
to Cclborne Township in 1929.•
Surviving are: Hugh, at home;
Mrs. Leslie O'Neill of Thornhill;
Mrs. James' Boyle of Clinton;
Helena at home.,
Pallbearers were: Frank Led•
dy, Norman Leddy, Carman
Kerr; -Francis-Jewell, John Buch-
anan and Marcel Buchanan.
Requiem high mass was sung
in St. Peter's Church by Father
R. Moynahan. Interment fol-
lowed at St. Peters' cemetery.
ALEXANDER NOBLE YOUNG
A retired furniture finisher
Alexander Noble Young, died in
Alexandra Hospital on Sunday at
the age of 78.
Born in West Wawanosh Town-
ship the son ,of Samuel Young
and .Christine Robertson, Mr.
Young resided in Wingham until
he moved to G-oderich in 1910.

Richard A. Millson was best
man and guests were ushered by
Gordon A. Arblaster -and David
is survived by his wife, the
former Phoebe Beacom.
Also surviviing are: daughter,
Mrs. Clarence (Olive Marion)
MacDonald( and son, Harold For-
rest Young, both of Goderich. In
addition there are eight grand-
children and four great-grand-
children.
Funeral services were held at
the Stiles funeral home on Tues-
day with the Rev. J. Donald
MacDonald officiating. Inter-
ment followed in Maitland ceme-
_tery.,

Central Huron Secondary School.

For Local Couple
Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Turton
celebrated their 40th wedding.
anniversary at their home at
R.R. 5,-Goderich on Saturday,
November 6.
They were married on Decern,
ber 30, 1925, by Rev. Esli Paulte:;,
at the home of Mrs. Turton's
parents, the late Mr. and Mrs.
George Baxter, in Colborne
Township. Mr. Turton is the
son of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel Turton, Folkestone, Eng-
land.
The couple have a son, Geo-
rge, Goderich, and two daugh-
ters, Mrs. W. (Ethel) Etue, Strat-
ford, and Mrs. J. (Evelyn), Lep-
pington, Clinton, and 12 grand-
children. ,
Also present was Mr. Turton's
sister, Miss Ethel Turton, Folk-
tone...Z.ligland,, WAQ--,i. x lig.

Sixty-seven guests from Lon-
don, Preston, Listowel, Watford,
Watford, Owen Sound, Seaforth,

meeting of the executive since
last May and the first since the
general synod of the Anglican
Church had given near -unanim-
ous approval to the document
entitled "The Principles of Un-
ion" in Vancouver in late Aug-
ust. The first recommendation
of the committee to come be-
fore the general council execu-
tive was therefore one of ap-
preciation for the actions of the
genie ral synod.
