Waterloo Lutheran University,

Max Aitken (later Lord Beaver-
brook) contains a ' longer narra-
tive. A German grenade„ „ it
states, landed Gledhill uninjured
outside the trench with his rifle
broken. He found another and
fired awhile from the knee till
it became necessary to join the
retreat. 1'./ "Under a tempest of
fire" he hauled to safety Pte.
Frank ,LIllock of Chatham, N.B.,
whom he found wouhded.
Mr. Gledhill still resides at
Benmiller.
