Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Young
made a hurried trip to Detroit
to visit their brother-in-law, Mr.
Robert Metier, who is confined
in Sinia Hospital, Detroit. •
Mrs. James 'Thomson attend-
ed the golden wedding anniver-
sary of her cousins, Mr. and
Mrs. A lexander MacLennan of
Windsor, at_theRiversicIP Drive
home of their daughter, Mrs.
Philip Holton, en Saturday, Au-
gust. 28. Accompanying Mrs,
Thomson were Mr. and Mrs.
Frank MacLennan, Loehalsh,
nephew and niece of the cele-
brants. Mrs. Alexander Mac-
Lennan is a former resident of
Goderich.
OPP Lloyd Bradley and fam-
ily, Lloyd, Mark and Lynn, of
Mount Forest, visited on Sunday

Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Patterson
and Judy have returned home
from a vacation trig to Kalama-

School Rushed

A former Lucknow resident,
Irs Salena May Johnston, 59,
of Toronto, was killed Monday
morning in a spectacular car -
truck collision on Highway 86.
• The accident occurred at the
intersection of Huron County
Road 6 and Highway 86, at the
Morris Bank corner.
Mrs. Johnston was thrown out.

turning home from a visit with
her sister, Mrs. Ben (I3essie)
Chisholm in Goderich.
The Johnston car was. in col-
lision with a tractor -trailer truck
driven by Harry Spies of. Elora,
who escaped from the wreckage
with an injured hip.
Mr. Spies was thrown from
the truck cab into a nearby
field when the vehicle jack-
nifed following the collision.
The car, driven bSi Mrs. John-
ston, struck the rear dual
Wheels of the truck and Was
dragged into the north ditch and
•flattened beneath the truck.
Mrs. Johnston was born in
Lochalsh and went to school in
Lucknow. She married Eldon
Johnston in Lucknow and he
predeceased her five years ago.
She is survived by two sons:
Roger and Clarence, both of
Toronto; three sisters, Mrs.
Frank (Annie) McLennan, Loch-
alsh; Mrs. Ben - (-Bessie) Chis-
holm, GodericI-; Mrs. Carl (Jean)
Pollock-, Uncardine, and one
brother, James Grant of Chicago.
Funeral services were held
at the 1V1c1enzie funeral home
in Lucknow on Wednesday after-
noon and were followed by bur-
ial in the Greenhill' cemetery in
Lucknow.
