us.
"Before and after a bus tour
of N. Wales, the, Lake District

days in London where we met

B.W.I. While in Edinburgh we

"Judge Paul Layton (who was
married in. Goderich in 1950 to
Mrs. Anderson's Cousin), drove
us to Coventry where we staYed
with Dr. and Mrs. Hastings
Smythe and family. The next
day Dr. Smythe drove us"to Sut-
ton Coldfield to visit Mr. and
Mrs. Layton and their boys.
"On to Liverpool and Belfast
where we stayed with a niece,
Ars. George Boyle. Mr. Boyle

farm with her son, Jim. Mar-
ried 55 years ago last April,
Mrs., McClure has ,been a reg-
ular subscriber to The Gode-
rich Signal -Star all of that
time. , She has in her home
the same stove and also a
coal shovel which she used
55 years ago.

"Wherever we went there was
a gathering of the clan. It was
a wonderful homecoming for
Sam after 36 years. It will take
us a long time to sort out all
that we saw and did."
50th Wedding,
Anniversary
Celebration
A direct descendent of the
first settler in Colborne Town-
ship, Mr. Peter Fisher, celebrat:
ed his 50th wedding anniver-
sary en July 21.
Open house was held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Fisher's
son,, Bernard, at R.R. 2, Clinton.
Guests attended from Los Ang-
eles, California, Nor t h Bay,
Windsor, London, St. Thomas,
Dorchester, Dungannon, Goder-
ich and Clinton.
Mr. Fisher was born on the
Maitland Concession of Col-
borne Township and has lived
there all: this life. Mrs. Fisher
was the formed Clara .Copp of
Blyth. •
The couple have a family of
three daughters: Dorothy, Mrs.
Carman Kerr, R.R. 6, Goderich;
Helen, Mrs. Douglas Pratt, Lon-
don; Donna, Mrs, Horace Craw-
ford,-R.R.

Bernard, Clinton; 12 grand-
children and .two great grand-
children.
Mr" and Mrs. Fisher received
greetings from the Prime Min-
ister, the Hon. Lester B. Pear-
son, to mark the occasion.

of 66 bowlers took part in' the
competition.

were Walter Westbrook, Harry

Two weeks ago Peter Bisset
and Stewart Robinson won . the
Cowan Trophy in a Western On-
tario Bowling Association tourn-
ament held in London.
Mr. Bisset and Earl Allison
were also successful in a
double's event held the same
day.
