Diocesan conveners ,stressed the
need of each council sending in

Ideas on ways to collect mem-
bership' fees was discussed, and
after many suggestions it was
decided 'to have a door-to-door
canvass;,, Many of the ladies
volunteered to help.

J. Murphy, will look after prizes
for the grade 8 graduates.
The highlight of the meeting
was when Mrs, Jack Evans in-

She stressed the need for
financial aid. She also told of
the different ways 'Canada is
contributing -to the help of these
islands, -but the need is still
very great, Miss Keogh said.
Mrs. R. Buchanan thanked
Miss Keogh. The hostess serv-
ed lunch.

OBITUARY
JAMES WESLEY WEBSTER
James Wesley Webster, 82,
died Monday at Alexandra Hos-
pital after a brief illness. The
funeral service will be held at
Stiles funeral home at 2 p.m.
Thursday with interment in
Greenhill cemetery, Lucknow.
Rev. C. A. Duk'elow will officiate.
Born at Tipperary, Ireland,
he was a son of the late Thomas
Webster and Susan Cook. He
came to Ashfield Township with
his parents when only two. years
of age. , In 1904 he was married
to the former Agnes Miller, who
predeceased him in 1959. He
lived on the 9th concession of
Ashfield Township until 1940,
later going to West Wawanosh
Township and then to Goderich
in 1945.- Ile -was --.a -xnemher-of
Victoria Street United Church.
Surviving are one son, Har-
old, of R.R. 3, Auburn, one sis-
ter, _ Mrs. Elizabeth Webster of
Cochrane, and , two grandchild-
ren. .
