,was that Spain had started to
cause trouble in a local grill
room. He had been drinl ing
'heavily •and a waitress ran oust
to find the police.
Sergeant Ross tCrawford had
been passing in the Goderiich
police 'cruiser when the wait -
tress' called to him for assist-
ance.
Drunken Condition
The police officer went in to
find Spain in a "drunken condi-
tion." The accused was asked
toleave but started shouting
and- swearing and would not co-
operate.
A struggle developed out •on
the street and a large crowd
gathered before Spain was fin-
ally subdued and oaken in hand-
cuffs to the police °station.
`On his finet court appearance
Spain said` "I was drunk that
is all. .There is nothipg_ mtich�
I can t say about lot.
He added: "I've been pretty
quiet lately. ~ Ahad that bottle
for two weeks before I drank it
on Sunday. I guess I jttst can't
handle it."

86 seizures of liquor, beer and
wine for infractions of the lAqu-
or Control ' Act. The Liquor
Control Board ' disposes of all
such seizures made by the de-
partment. •
