cil night of the Lions but the

to the bettors at the track and
also to the owners or drivers
of harness race 'horses from
the Goderitlh area who. won

rich: Mr. Brooks paid tribute ,
to Bud Jerry of Goderich,�the
presiding judge . 'at Western
Fair Raceway. "We're-. proud

Pointing out the high cost of
d rur.rring'the 'Raceway, Mr.
Brooks said it had to serve all
of Western Ontario•in- order to
tope'rate of ciently. For this
. reason, he solicited the patron-
_ age of Goderich fans and asked

their local track.

Brooks' said that .of, say, $100,-
000 wagered at the Raceway,
approximately $84,500 goes back
to the wagering public. He
added that. 6 percent of the
total amount wagered gees to
the Provincial GOvernurtent and
about .9 per cent to the Race-
way,. which included the money
for prizes. -
