HOW TO LIVE WITH CHRIST -1110W which doesn't work.

Thirty days hath Septe. bei, ,tra set of lights, by husband.
Stir in a few short calls on
friends on way home, Put hus-
band gently inside door at one
a.m. Christmas morning — and
you get your Christmas punch,
right between the eyes: It is
considered only sporting, if you
feel like retaliating, to wait
until
Boxing Day.
April, June and Christmas, At
least it seems -„that w.ay• '
About the middle of Novem:
bei, the advertising swings into
high gear. We are implored to
buy "a gift to enchant her"
-- like a dainty electric shover.
Or something "he,,, really needs"
-- ike a •tastefully -wrapped bot-
tle of dandruff remover.
Around the same time, the
"Christmas music" begins. We
are warned- that Santa ..Claus is
ed. 18 times a days, •to listen,
through the thunder of traffic
and the snarl of aircraft, for
nine jir,'gle bells. • We are told,
for 20 , s b;, i'e Chyi tin
that some .y .saw manza'-
} ing• Santa Maus last night. `It
makes you feel all sort of sac -
ed and . . • well, you know.

like this:, the player is given

you are obstinate; he is a pig-

Now, how about some Christ-
mas definitions, so 'that you
4g; won't be misled, by a lot of
cliches that have sprung up
around the sacred and joyous
ocasion.
"And 10, the star, which they
saw in the east, went before
them, till it came and stood
over where the young Child
was." Matthew 2:9.
"And they ,came, witih haste,
and found Mary, and Joseph
and the Babe lying in' a man-
ger.", Luke 2:16. ,'
From two who became °ills
disciples came the words that
tell the story oL that Holy Night,
the first Christmas. Matthew
the tax collector wrote of the
Star. that shone in the east, and
of wise men wl o followed it to
find ~and worship Him.,
Luke the physician wrote of
shepherds watching min the
fields and herald angels singing
in the heavens.
At church services during
this Christmas season the words
of the tax "collector and the
physician will be read and stud:
ied once again, with ever -deep-
ening meaning.
And as the story is told 'a-
new, it is also reflected in the
many observances of Christmas,
both in churches and in holmes.
The joyful sotind of carols
harks back to the hist of all
carols, the words of the heav-
enly hest,
"Gl'ory' fo God in
the highest, and on earth peace,
.good will toward men,"
The glow of eandles syn rbo1-
izes the birth Q. Christ • as the
Light of the World, and it also
mirrors the eternal gleam of
the Star of Bethlehem•.
The spirit of giving takes
gaidance from the g'i'fts of the
Wise Men who brought ,gold,
frankincense and snyrrbb'to
'Him.
A,bave all, at Christmas, man-
kindexperiences once again the
reversence, wonder and rejoic-
ing of the wise men, of whom
Matthew says:
"And when ',they were come
into the house, they saw the
young Child and Mary His mo;
ther, and fell down and war-
shippped, Him."
The Past NODIe Granas Club
of ,the Rebekah Lodge held its
Ohristmas meeting at the home
of Mrs. -Frank Bowra with an
attendance of 19 member's.- The
president, Mrs. Kenneth Bell,
was' in charge. •
Following the singing -of ."The
Ode" there was a short business
session. The visiting commit-
tee called . on members who
were ill or bereaved. Members
presented their talent money.
It was decided to send gifts to

bi tyro members at'ChxstalltS'

Christmas list—men acquire
a heavy list to starboard from'
reaching into their hip packets
for wallets so frequently. Wo-
men acquirb a different, type
list: pelvic thrust out, back tilt-
ed badly to the rear from the
waist up, acquired from carry-
ing parcels piled to their noses.
Christmas pudding'— closely
allied to Christmas list. It is
'more noticeable in men — a
type of paralysis that comes
from pudding, their hand in
their pocket so often.
