- It has been repeatedly suggested that in casting rour ballot
ng liquor
Dleblscite you must consider carefully the effect uponeyour children. 'roininent medical
leaders today point -out 'that, the open sale of liquor under proper types of control
has the best possible effect on our children. They point out that a, child used to the
open sale of liquor does not consider it a forbidden fruit and therefore, does not over-
indulge when. he becomes of age.
You would not stop driving you13 car because a friend of yours drives badly or
has an accident. You would not- stop eating because someone else is overweight. You
would not refuse to take medicine or to allow sleeping pills in your home because some-
one ;else -took an overdose. Of course not. 'Most things are dangerous in excess.
A sensible way to help stabilize a child's a ttitude towards liquor, and, in effect,
to stop unsupervised parties here there is no control over the sale of liquor to teen-
agers, is to vote "Yes."
